    Morning campers:p
I woke this morning with my brain buzzing. It's not been doing that too much lately due to illness but it feels good to be getting back to myself.
My ebay stuff has been going ok with a few decent amounts and all from stuff I would normally have given away. Some things I've sold I should really have kept back till nearer the summer when I reckon I would have gotten more but hey ho its all about learning as you go.

Indie when I joined the challenge I had no idea of what I was going to do. My initial £100 was swallowed up by a very unexpected bill as have my ebay sales so buying to sell is not really an option until I get that sorted. So I had to start thinking laterally. A throwaway remark by CTC ignited something in me and gave me my way forward. The idea is a simple one and a very definite niche and most importantly won't cost me a lot of money to start up. I've researched it and it definitely looks viable.

Because I'm thinking so positively I've now started to see opportunities in lots of things around me . None of them are "get rich quick" ideas and all involve a lot of hard work and no quick returns. But by the end of the year I hope to have a viable business, oh and of course £10000 in the bank :D. I'll always aim high because I just might get there.

If it's a get rich quick scheme you're looking for you're probably better off buying a lottery ticket, you'd have a better chance( not that I'm advocating lottery tickets):p

And probably the best piece of advice I've taken from here is to do something you know a lot about, makes all the difference:T

I really hope you find something you can work with but only you can figure that out .
Hope you find what you're looking for

soooooooooo glad we buddied up, as we have both gained ideas.... and support:T plus i have had a right giggle;)

sorry havent posted or pm'd you SEASHELL, but busy in work, and have got a dreaded cold/flu, must have caught it of you SS....lol..

will all the positive energy in the thread.. i phone up someone who buys stock of me, and said i wanted an increase in price, and i got it:beer:
which over the space of the year will be a very noticeable amount..

so my imput to the thread today is...........

If you work.... when was it you had a pay increase or extra staff discounts etc? is it worth just having a 'general' chat about it?

Also if you work in a place where there is a few people.... is it worth selling Avon? i know years ago, hubby used to take my avon books into work, and give them to the girls in the office:rotfl: WOW they could spend...

Also what about Park Hampers? you get commission at the end of the year... i think the high street vouchers are the best value....also catalogues, you get 10% comission so with no outlay you could make some money... by showing and selling from the catalogue to family and friends...

If you work in a small place with a few people, could you start or own little tuck shop? just taking some canned drinks, bars of chocolate/sweets in, and jst add a few pence on rather than a huge amount, to encourage people to buy them from you..

your niche market is out there......

you just got to open your eyes and your mind, and you will find it......

Another £10 won on bb overnight and still have £5 of my original £10 to invest. I was going to do an indoor boot sale in Feb but entrance is £8, so I'm going to wait til the outdoor one starts at about Easter as they only charge £4 for sellers. In the meantime I'm making that list for my DD to put on ebay for me, hopefully we'll get together next week and sort it out.

All small stuff compared to some but didn't realise how close the 'dream' of having £1k to spend on the family at Christmas really is :)

Loved your post Ladymoon, and love your mum, good to know you are always going to get her support.. really made me laugh.

I'm looking to get some professional looking headed paper done, cheaply. I've got a name for my busines, but no logo.

Any ideas on going about getting a logo and headed paper?

Try posting on the small business board, I posted on there about a logo and a MSE'r designed one for me free of charge as they wanted the result for their portfolio-might be worth a try?

Well done on getting the price increase CTC. It is so easy in this environment not to ask, for fear of losing a client, yet they may value you more because you recognise your value.

I liked the idea of a general chat, so that even if the answer was no, you'd lost nothing.

all my printing and log design was done by a local independant printer,
he didnt charge me for the logo design, think he gambled on the repeat business, and it worked as i only use him for my main work printing things

or you would try and design something yourself and then you would only print yuor headed paper when you need it

I just got my engraving kit! Now I need to find something to practice engraving on.

Don't know if I am thinking of the wrong thing here, but can you engrave glass? In my cupboard is a champagne glass engraved with "Emma's 1st Birthday" with the sales on have seen some very nice glasses for a pound or two. They make nice keepsakes. Also m brother has a beer glass with 18th on it.

If I am right, get some tesco value ones to practice on? Just an idea

I allway find the 'general chat' is a nice casual way of talking about more serious things...lol...

by having a 'general chat;)' you might not get the response you want at that particular time, but it is also a way of 'planting that seed:D' for the future.... and this way the boss will think it was their idea when they talk to you in the future:rotfl:
