That could be useful ... there is definitely money in selling the tools to the gold miners, if you know what I mean. I could have done with this the other day when the Post Office Teller was trying to up-sell me to a packet ... my large letter fitted through the guide in the Post office easily but he insisted that it touched the edges so was trying to make me pay more ... apparently (it seems) the letter is supposed to base jump through the hole not touching the sides anywhere ... makes you think of those wire coils you have to guide the hoop over to reach the end without setting off the alarm
. I wouldn't mind but the only bit that slightly touched the edges, was the end of the envelope I folded over to tidy it up, because whenever you leave a slightly flappy bit, the Royal Mail's dated sorting machinery rips it to shreds
All depends on the individual in the Post Office i find, i've had ones like above who if it casts a shadow on the slot insists its a large letter but on the other hand i had a lovely woman who insisted on folding the one edge over and sellotaping it down to make sure something i was posting went through the slot !WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..
Blimey what was that ?
That was your life mate
Oh I wasn’t quite ready can I have another go ?
Sorry mate only one per person.0 -

You're right ... I was considering going to another post office today after the "discussion" last time (huge line waiting behind me too ) but ended up in the same one and the girl behind the counter today was really lovely and friendly ... left with a smile on my face this time.

made my first sale on Amazon.....whoo hoo, been listing all day, think I have discovered its not good to list heavy books unless they are rare and selling at a premium, also not sure why when I list some books Amazon quotes a final price a £ or 2 higher (once fees etc taken) but with other 'rarer' ones it ended up quoting me less than I am even listing it for? Still cant head around how some titles can be listed way about their RRP when they are modern and not rare as far as I can tell....I wonder what would happen if I sold book for e.g. £19.99 that only has £9.99 on back, still undercutting other sellers....if I was a buyer in that situ I would be well miffed and leave bad feedback, would you?0

Hello all you busy bees,
Not had much chance to be on here today - as same as Sparky I had magnificent plans of being out and about and woke up to see the white blanketMind you I won't complain it looks much nicer than the melting black icy slush we had yesterday
anyway, Been "busy-ish" today and listed 5 items on ebay - was hoping to list closer to 15 but for some reason it is sooooo slo with uploading pics, it literally disconnects sometimes... None of them are high value money makers and not even sure if they will sell, but they are some of the bulky items I want to "de-clutter" from our house, so fingers crossed! if they go for the 99p and postage i'll be pleased.
I also spent ages (too long) browsing through Freegle - I saw some listings I can use to sell on - but in honesty don't think I should take something someone is offering Free to be recycled and make money out of it... BUT some people are clearly saying things like "if it doesnt go by the weekend its going to the tip" hmmm tough one - and i know its been discussed before. Just hesitant with what to do!!But I saw people giving away Jars and i remembered someone on here wanted some before for making Jams (can't remember who sorry), so check your local Freegle group you never know !
ok, plan of action for tonight - get to grips with more listing.... (and tidy up the house!!)
Im not sure its 'ethical' to take freebies off freegle to sell on either though sometimes people do say things like huge box of stuff ideal for bootsale so they are asking you to take it and sell it in that instance....0 -
lol, we're top of google for "bloke who traded items over the course of a year"
I'm pretty sure he started with a red paper clip and ended up with a house. I'll have to take a look.
I managed to get £20 out of Bingobritain today. Only won £5 in bingo but played with it and managed to withdraw the £20, so good day today.Mortgage Free in 3-T2 : Started at £151,000 Nov. 2009 Mortgage Free Oct 1st 2015

However, i'm enjoying the experience and love having the thought that this time next year i'll be 10k richer... i just don't know how yet! (I too love the chit chat - that keeps me interested and motivated the most). Cheers x
Still smiling about the googly eyes!!!
Whos to judge what is good chat or pointless anyway (re an earlier quote and on going chat saga), this thread is friendly lets keep it that way! We are hopefully helping and inspiring each other and as this is quite a 'challenge' the chat helps keep up the entusiasm and motivation in my humble opinion!0
