Today, i became the proud owner of 200 googly eyes (100 pairs). As a result, i'm also a few pound further from the 10k and well and truly in minus numbers as i have made nothing! However, i'm enjoying the experience and love having the thought that this time next year i'll be 10k richer... i just don't know how yet! (I too love the chit chat - that keeps me interested and motivated the most). Cheers x
    Just £10,852.28p to go...

Somebody asked before if in Selling Manager when you mark something as dispatched does a message get sent to the purchaser automatically or do you need to manually generate one ... I would really like to know this too as I was working off the assumption a message was sent and so may have been showing poor communication if it is not.

Selling Manager does not automatically send any messages unless you subscribe and pay for Selling Manager Pro.

You can send emails to buyers in bulk in the same section that you print off the invoice/address.

Really must tackle this essay now.....................

i personally think the chat is good, as its keeping everyone on their toes, AND i personally think its making the thread into a cosy family thing, where everyone is getting into a comfort place, feeling relaxed, and taking the stress out of the challenge.. i know i just contridicted myself there...lol... but you know what i mean...

as skintbint has mentioned there is well over 350 odd days left of the challenge... so no need to get into a tizz as things are slow, and you havent found your selling niche...

Even though i am not officially a member, i am still taking part... so to speak..... and i am putting everything into place to start selling big time in the spring...

dont forget to Forward plan.... maybe get a diary or calendar on the go.... so you know at the begining of feb, start sowing those broad beans etc to sell in the spring.... put the date that the carboots start in your area...

lets say its on the 1st of April they start... about 3 weeks before, start putting reminders in your diary... so got time to prepare and pack the items, and you dont promise to be somewhere else:rotfl: because you didnt realise the date...

also use this dairy for those cards/posters advertising the summer fates. special disount evenings/days in certain stores....

    dont forget...

    GET ORGANISED...

    FORWARD PLANNING!!!!!!

Did you guys get this idea from that bloke who traded items over the course of a year?
He started with something like a inexpensive pen and traded items up until a studio recording deal then finally a house.
I always liked that idea, wouldn't mind reading more about it, anybody know who I'm going on about?

I remember the one you mean ... there have been a few of them now around the world. He was doing direct swaps with people to raise the level of thing he had to swap (effectively he did a whole series of slightly, or hugely uneven swaps over the course of his challenge). I think a combination of being bare faced and people helping him out wanting him to succeed etc. (along with the publicity of course) helped him out. I think if we all tried to get cheeky direct swaps with people, things would get a little frosty pretty quickly ;). Can't remember his name right now but I am sure a bit of Google and Bing action will reap rewards.
