Hi everyone
Well today I have bidded on three mis-spelt items through looking on goofbay. They have 6 days to go so we'll see how that goes. Also looking at getting a large amount of books. I'm guessing from the thread amazon is the way to go with them, any tips anyone? Never sold on there before.
Hi there, in the past I've resold a LOT of books. I bought mine either in bulk lots on ebay, or from library clearance sales (my local library used to do carrier bags of books for £1, and bin bags full for £5!). Fiction tends to sell very poorly on Amazon, so take this into account when buying. Fiction I tended to resell for 3 for £1 at car boot sales, and hardback or rarer books as well as all the non fiction went on Amazon. Amazon definately has the highest sales rate, its rare I have an item on there for more than a week without selling.
I always make sure I'm the lowest price in my category (ie used or new), if you go any higher people aren't going to buy from you no matter what the rating! I have over 200 positive amazon feedback but they'll still buy from a new seller if they're cheaper as Amazon's policies cover them if the item doesn't turn up.
Make sure your selling price is cheaper than Amazon's as well. For books deduct £2.75 from their price, and make sure yours is lower than this. It is an absolute kicker about fees as they can be heafty (I have a £190 piece of software on there at the moment, if it sells I'll recieve £140), but sales are quick, money is easy to get off them, and you're not left with boxes of books sitting about for months on end.
The other thing to do with fiction to save money rather than make it is stick it on readitswapit and get your next read from there for just the cost of postage instead of buying it with cash.
If you're thinking of buying bulk lots of books its worth looking at bulk lots nationally on ebay, even if they say local pick up only. You can get delivery on up to 10kg for around £7, and usually you can get up to 30kg for around £12. Of course you need to contact the seller check he'd be happy for you to have a courier collect the books. See the discount postage article here. You may find in total you can get 300 books for under £15, I've previoiusly got a mixed lot of used non fiction for £22 all in, and resold for over £1000 in total.
Hope this helps someone x

Personally, if your getting it for that price i'd go with selling via free ads, local papers etc espescially because they're pretty costly items to post. No fees so nothing else eating into your profit margin. My aunty has a shop that sells nearly new baby things, typically only Quinny, Bugaboo and old style silver cross sell better on eBay (factoring in costs) than through other methods.0

I have been studying local pick-ups on e-bay. Thanks very much for that link. There seem to be a number of items such as prams/cots/high chairs etc, that are very good makes and in excellent condition, but are listed with very few watchers, at 0.99p, all ending within the next couple of hours/days. It is a rural area, but easily accessible to me.
Is there a market for these type of items at car boots, or somewhere else? Am I missing something here, i.e. safety concerns. Wouldn't mind a bit a feedback before I part with any pennies. Thanks.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -

Hiya guys, I've have a sale this morning on ebay for 8.99, but still waiting for another buyer to pay me £40 for a bag. I thought if someone bought a Buy It Now item they had to pay immediately, so I'm hoping this buyer hasn't changed their mind...
I haven't got much on today, going to list some stuff on ebay (I'm aiming to do 5-10 a day until I am clutter free) create my spreadsheet, then off to the shops for some sale snooping followed by a session in the gym.0 -

Re safety concerns, avoid the obvious, car seats. If your a pram/pushchair put it up/down twice minimum checking everythings ok before you take away and I think cot mattresses are a problem because of SIDS, my Aunty doesn't sell used mattresses, instead she offers them free with the cot they came with but points out that it's not recommended to use used mattresses. I'm not sure if there is actual legislation regarding it though.
Hope that helps even a little bit!
