snow affecting your deliveries?

Hi, my area isn't having any post at the moment either - I ordered some stuff last weekend and it hasn't turned up yet - so you certainly aren't the only one! Unlike your buyers though, I am planning on giving them another week since we haven't seen a postie in days.
I am also a bit worried as I sold a good few things towards the end of last week. When I went to the Post Office, the lady there told me that Special Delivery is about the only thing that's getting through at the moment. Not good news.Feb GC - £100 / ~£800 -
we've had no post/courier since the snow started Monday afternoon. It's still snowing here so goodness knows when I'll get any of my deliveries

It appears very hit and miss even in the same town. We haven't had any post at home since Tuesday but my work (0.9 miles away) has had a daily postal delivery since Thursday. The main road where I work is clear and my home address isn't so postal deliveries are dependant on access and staff I guess. Our local PO has been open everyday.
Our bin collection staff have been diverted to other duties like gritting. We had a bonus collection on Tuesday for recycling stuff, which worked out great as we didn't get the usual Friday collection - nothing to collect TBH really after 3 days.0 -
We've had no postal deliveries or collections since Monday. One of our post offices has been closed because it is inaccessible due to snow and the other one has been running a skeleton service because the staff can't get in.
Even if you do struggle down there to post something the RM haven't been picking it up, so evidently the parcels I posted last Tuesday afternoon - a couple of hours before the snow began again - are still there.
My mum saw a young sales assistant knocked down in the supermarket by a rioting crowd - who like me have had no milk since Monday. The poor girl came out with a trolley thing filled with milk and they just surged forward to start grabbing it.
No dustbins or recyclables have been collected either obviously. They are due again on Tuesday.
No roads have been gritted between my house and my daughter's school 3 miles away, (and it's closed until Tuesday anyway) or my house and my mother in laws house two miles in the other direction. It's like living in the arctic tundra - not the home counties!
The buses and trains began a skeleton service on Friday so I assume that will continue this week It's hit and miss whether you can get where you need to go though
The scariest thing by far has been the 6 foot long icicles hanging from the upper floors of the shops in the town centre. What's going to happen when they fall?
I'm on the Surrey Hants border and got about 9-10 inches last Tuesday night, plus a couple of slight sprinklings since. Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Einstein0 -
No collection or deliveries since Tuesday here in East Sussex and I'm snowed in so cant get to the post office as I'm not walking 6 miles in the snow carrying parcels!

No delivery by RM here for 7 days now. No collection (I have a business collection) for 6 days. However, I have walked a mile to a gritted road with my mail sacks in a wheelbarrow (actually 2 wheelbarrows as OH helped!) to then deposit sacks with OH's car which is parked on the slipway to a major road (near a pub!) to drive to our local sorting office (8 miles away) EACH day. We laughed as we did it......that is customer service! All my mail goes via RM TRACKED (or DHL if over 5kg) and I am alerted to parcels which are 'not delivered/collected' after 7 days - normally this is probably 1% but is as high as 8% this week.
I have 4.9 for despatch in DSR's - should be 6!0 -

Now thats dedication talking them in wheelbarrows! But I would probably drag mine in my sledge if it was my business :beer:0 -
I've been getting my sacks to the village post office, but Royal Mail isn't able to get to the village to collect them - I ended up re-collecting them and taking them to the nearest town in OH's 4x4 yesterday. Just glad I don't live 20 miles further down the coast, they haven't had any post delivered since 16th December, the vans just can't get through.0

we had people fighting here over milk too, coop had the police there, some old man got punched in the face and caused a nose bleed over a loaf of bread and another girl got pushed over and her shopping bag snatched cos she had milk in it!Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0
