I've ordered a few things this week and have all turned up within two days, big pat on the back for royal mail from me. I did however place an order with ebuyer and have sat in for three days waiting for UPS to delivery it.

Don't forget that sellers lose paypal seller protection if you don't ship within 7 days so if you are affected it might be best to suspend sales for the time being. Also on Amazon they are making no allowances at all to the 2 day posting rule and will mark down any seller who cannot ship , so again consider putting nay Amazon store on holidays.

Posties don't have anything to do with the decisions of whether to deliver or not, that's down to the management. This time of year the post is extremely heavy with mail order catalogues and holiday brochures going out, not to mention all the sales that are on atm.

Our 4th week of snow, the roads and pavements are treacherous, however our management think it's ok for us to be delivering. Despite a couple of van crashes and having to go out and dig vans out of ditches regularly.

  • I posted an item on Tuesday morning before it started snowing badly. My area and the buyer's area were both affected by the snow. It was sent Special Next day delivery and it was delivered Thursday which i thought was very good considering the circumstances.

I had three days mail delivered yesterday, Royal Mail are doing a great job, our local Council should take note. Haven't had a refuse collection since 17th december.

We had problems on Tuesday but by Wednesday things were reasonably back to normal with the Post Offices open.

I use our business collection from work to send out most of my normal eBay stuff and this didn't happen Tuesday or Wednesday but has been fine since. I've had little or no problems with deliveries (just taking a day or so more then normal) at all since before Christmas when the snow started here. Thumbs up to the local posties from me.

We had deliveries at home from Wednesday onwards even though our road is still terrible (I got the car stuck twice yesterday and had to help dig 4 neighbours out too). Once you get off our road, the rest of the area is fine as long as you take care and be sensible. We even saw a gritter go down the road at the end of ours yesterday!

It's funny how the Royal Mail, couriers, central heating repair and the milkman can all get through and we can get to work OK but the bin men can't make it though

I had another buyer email today to say try another post office! Well I can assure you if the main one isnt open the 2 small ones 2 miles away wont be either, they are run inside little shops and to expect someone to walk that far. I know its not their fault but surely they cant be that naive they have my county as the item location so surely they could just look it up and see! Apparently weve had it colder than Russia and had the most snowfall and cold weather the county has seen in 30 years! The snow isnt clearly its freezing

Before the snow started I attempted to drive to Tesco a car reversed out on me I hit my brakes but just skid down a narrow country lane, I was shaking I was so close to the lamp post when I stopped my heart was in my mouth so you can imagine what the roads are like here now

I havent got anything ending on ebay until the end of the week so will be ok and these items all sold literally a day or 2 before the snow started on the weekend.

I assume your buyer doesn't live in the country! Most of our rural post offices were closed last year. I now only have one post office near me. The next one is quite a long drive away. Why do buyers always assume that the place they live is representative of the whole country?!
