I'd like to see Spamalot, I read on theatre site children aged 8 to 15 pay the ticket price of their age.
When I try to book this, the offer doesn't seem to be mentioned & options for it do not come up. Has anyone used this? Please tell me how? Thanks MSE ers0 -
I know it's a few months late, but I've only just stumbled across this thread... kids pay their age on Family Friday. I'm pretty sure you have to book it direct (but will gladly be corrected!) and that you are restricted to the matinee, but it is a great deal and a fab way of getting the kids to the theatre!0

Many theatres have "Day Seats". You turn up to box office in person at 10am on the day you want to see the show and, subject to availbility, there are tickets at a special rate - usually something like £20 for a musical (as opposed to £60 for some normal rate seats - so a good saving). A good source of information on Day Seats are theatre fan forums such as www.whatsonstage.com
Also, there are lulls in the theatre trade. We've just had one (January) and there is usually one in May and again in September. These are the best times for deals.Yeah, whatever. I'm a grown up, I can take it...0 -
A good way to cut the cost of theatre tickets is to try for an upgrade.
Theatres would rather have the stalls full than the audience scattered throughout the auditorium. If you buy the cheapest seat in the house (yes, go for that restricted view one in the back row of the upper circle) you will often get bumped up if the theatre isn't full.
The quietest nights in the West End are Tuesdays, so this is your best bet for being moved. Apply caution on matinees for anything on the GCSE or A Level syllabus (Blood Brothers, The Woman in Black and any classical drama) as they will probably have filled up with school parties anyway. Also, bear in mind that for some shows it is better to be higher up but nearer the front than on a lower level and right at the back (if, for example, you're at the back of the stalls in some theatres the overhang from the dress circle really restricts your view). On the show I work on I advise my friends to sit in the upper circle rather than at the back of the stalls.Yeah, whatever. I'm a grown up, I can take it...0
