I cannot even find it on their searchable price guide. Did you haggle the dealer down or something or was it a special offer?. I would dearly like one of these but £699 is way over my budget..
Just realised as well you say weekly payments are £53.88 per week - this exceeds the weekly £49.10 allownce. Are you sure this is Motability (as I didn't think you could pay more towards a car weekly) and not other finance? If it is, was it really no deposit as that seems way to cheap?
If I could also get one at that price I would be chuffed to bits, I do need an automatic or semi automatic car of around that size to fit the wheelchair in the boot. The other nil or very low priced automatics are just too small to carry my chair and the children.
I just hope I get my good condition bonus when my current car goes back as I was going to use that as the deposit (all I can afford) but no deposit is even better. .
I think you will find thats the price for War Pensioners, not DLA claimants hence why it appears a lot cheaper.

I don't mean to be ungrateful to war pensioners, but why do they get the cars on Motability cheaper than the rest of us?
Surely the cars cost motbility the same? Isn't this discrimination by charging one group of people (disabled living allowance clainants) more than others?0 -

Overall both DLA claimants and War Pensioners pay the same.
The War Pension Allowance is £54.85 per week versus High Rate DLA at £49.10 per week.
Thus the War Pensioners pay over £5.00 more per week for their cars when Total Allowance applies.
When you work it out £5.00 x 52 (weeks in year) x 3 (3 year contract) it equals roughly £780 more paid by WPMS customers over the contract length.
Thus this extra payment in effect equals the 'reduced' advanced payment payable by WPMS customers.
So overall no discrimination because eveyone pays the same over the three year contract length.
Edit - now found my calculator to work it out properly:
£54.85 (WPMS) minus £49.10 (DLA) = £5.75 per week extra paid by a War Pensioner (assuming car is Total Allowance for both DLA/WPMS)
So, £5.75 x 52 (weeks in the year) x 3 (3 year contract length) = £897.00 paid extra by War pensioners over three year contract length.
Thus £897.00 is the amount the Advanced Payment should be 'reduced' by for WPMS recipients - however having looked at the Motability site, the difference is sometimes less than this amount for some reason.
But in general everyone pays the same no matter which allowance they receive.0 -
Just a quick one here.
I am due to collect my new car next week and for some reason i decided to check the car prices again. The advance payment had reduced from £1644 to £823 which as you can imagine i was a bit surprised.
It took one phonecall to Motability and they have agreed to drop the payment to the lower price. I think this was a combination of things really-
1. I was polite and didnt demand anything.
2. I am a loyal customer this will be my 10th year.
3. The quality service you always receive from Motability.
So in summary thank you Motability0 -
I think if you are due to collect your car motability are going to be more flexible at dropping the AP to the new lower price as they are in danger of you cancelling your order. I imagine customers who have just taken delivery of their car, paid the AP are not as successful at re-negotiating to the new AP as they are already under contract.0

I think where they secure a lower advance payment they should pass on to customers if price changes before collection date, (they are a charity at the end of the day).
If Motability have to pay back advanced payments to people who have already ordered when they renegotiate prices with manufacturers the prices will go up for everyone.0 -
Yes of course i agree they will be more flexible if you havent collected your car. Although i am not sure were you would stand in getting another car through motability if you cancel for this reason. I myself rely on the car so would not be in the position to just cancel so close to delivery anyway.
I do however think it is worth an enquiry into getting the lower price even if you have taken delivery as they will still want your repeat business in 3 years time.0
