Glad pondie won the £50 you deserved it i spent all week saying i hoped you got it. well done and thanks againback to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0

No just kidding we had loverly ppl next to us.
We were in chalet 256 and 250, we went when the fire alarm went off :rolleyes:Peace Of Heaven0 -
My step kids got back from Camber Sands last night. Tey had a great time, but were absolutely cream-crackered. I think they had been doing the Crocodile March every night til the bars closed.:D
They said they made friends with a lovely family while they were there, who had also won their holiday. So if it was an MSEer they made friends with - Hello and thanks for being so friendly:)0 -
I couldn't take the holiday but passed the info onto my brother, who went with his wife and two sons, and my mum and dad who took my youngest :T (my eldest was offered to be taken as well but she goes to dance and drama classes and was rehearsing all this week for their show tomorrow and actually suggested just her sister went...what a darling :A) They all went to Hemsby on Monday and got back yesterday.
Anyway, both parties upgraded and the slight problems with my parent's room (socket not working and light outside not working) were fixed within two hours of being reported. All the staff were apparantly fantastic, friendly and helpful.
The big let down was the one day my mum took my daughter to the kids club for kite making. The 'kites' were just pieces of sugar paper cut into kite shapes to paint. The paint was a paper towel with three blobs of paint on to share, and there were only three paintbrushes to share. My mum went to the shop and came back with paintbrushes, felt-tip pens and glitter glue for everyone to use and left them there as a donationAnd although the girl running it was nice enough, she didn't do anything with the kids just sat talking to my SIL as apparantly the girl, like my nephew, has ADHD and Aspergers. My mum came to the rescue again and got all the kids involved and having fun :T
The area between the apartments had all of the kids in the area playing together really nicely and my daughter made friends with most of them. (If anyone else was there this week, my daughter was easy to spot - she uses a purple wheelchair!)
For anyone there this week - does anyone know what happened to the little one that had to have an ambulance called? My mum says she was told they had a febrile convulsion (apparantly it was very hot in the club) but would like to know if they were OK.
Thanks again pondie - all my relations that went had a great time and in the time my daughter was away I managed to redecorate her bedroom as well:TI'm a little angelBUT A WHOLE LOTTA DEVIL

TBefore you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.0 -
Thanks for the answer I will pass it on, and so glad to hear your daughter is OK :T :T:T Febrile convulsions, although very scary, are fairly common in under 5's when they are hot but aren't usually dangerous and hopefully it will be her last. Hope she is OK now.
My brother (who is not much of an emotional guy) was leaving the club to go back to his apartment and saw your daughter with the oxygen mask on outside. He was so upset that he got his wife and kids back to their apartment then my mum bumped into him heading back to the club with tears in his eyes to find out if she was OK.
Once again, glad she was fine in the end :jI'm a little angelBUT A WHOLE LOTTA DEVIL

Thanks again to Pondie for this great deal. My kids loved it there so did my friends and sister in laws kids also. We went into Hasyings on Saturday on the bus and spent some time on the beach and looking round the town centre. On Sunday we went to the beach at Camber and it was like walking though a sand storm, but great fun, we really enjoyed the break and the kids have been askin me all day when can we go back to Pontins as they loved it there. A holiday is what you make it and although the accomodation may be basic the atmosphere and service was great.
We went to Camber Sands as well. There were lots of linen. Even extra pillows. The room was nice and clean. We hardly used any electric and ended up with £4.99 credit (we started off with £1.99 credit). We laid out on the beach on a blanket. Just a light breeze to keep you cool. Weather was great all week. It was nice and sunny. We went to Ashford and went to all the shopping malls. We had vouchers for free admission to Underwater World and Smugglers Adventure in Hastings so we went there and it didn't cost us anything.
Also, we got free return ferry tickets for foot passengers for Sea France from the Pontins in Camber Sands. Apparently, everyone there can get them. Anyhow, one of the days, we drove to Dover and spent the day in France. That was free too except for the car park in Dover.
Overall, we were thrilled. We got the Pontins holiday free, free admission to Smugglers Adventure and Underwater World, free return ferry trip to France, lovely weather, and the beach and water. Thanks ever so much for this post!0 -
Stabilo wrote:Our daughter is fine after a night in hospital, thanks. It was a febrile convulsion and it really frightened my wife & I. At almost 12 months old it was her first convulsion and fingers crossed her last. We finished our holiday early as we wanted to be back home in case she took unwell again. This was no reflection on Pontins as we were pleasantly surprised with the Club (£30) apartment and the site generally. The excellent weather also helped.
I am so glad to hear your little angel is well. I was in reception when you brought her in and I have never been so terrified for anyone in all my life. I will sleep well now knowing you are all ok xxxx big hugs xxxxSome people see the glass half full, others see the glass half empty - the enlightened are simply grateful to have a glass0 -
Firstly thanks to Pondie1 for orginal post, so glad you won the £50, well deserved.
We just come back from Hemsby. Good time had, helped by the fact it was free. Accommadation o.k., nothing special, sofa bed very uncomfortable but made the best of everything else. Lots of time on beach, took advantage of free swimming lesson sessions to give a bit of individual attention to our youngest.
Finally just wanted to pass on a thank you to Trix' mum. We also went to the kite making session which was poorly provided for, thanks to your mum who made it a more practical and enjoyable session for my kids. How we were expected to share three paintbrushes between several tables and one sheet of paper with three blobs of paint on. When we realised this we asked were there any crayons we could use instead to make sharing more realist but only small box with a few broken wax crayons in. Thanks again to your mum, please pass it on. Glad you had o.k. time too.0
