We were at Southport at the weekend, wasn’t overly impressed, but dd had a great time. Southport wasn’t far away and on the Saturday we got the train from Ainsdale to Liverpool and spent the day there. Entertainment wasn’t up to much, but for £30 for the room upgrade well worth it. I would go there again, was great to use as a base for going out, might try it again through the Sun £9.50 holiday thing they do.£2 saver club 30th sept 198 £2 coins = £396(£350 banked)0

Got back yesterday from a three night break at Pontin's Southport. I agree with other posters that it does look a bit like a prison camp and that it could do with a face lift. However, the accommodation was clean and near the facilities. We found the staff were good with the kids and despite the poor weather put on the planned outdoor activities - in our case circus skills, abseiling and rock climbing. All paid for by Pontins from the £75.00 worth of vouchers we were given on arrival. I would like to add my thanks to Pondie1 for a great find, and for sharing it with us.0

I was lucky enough to 'win' a 'free' holiday at Pontins due to your web site. It appears many others have also been fortunate. Unlike goldie-bambino we are a two parent family with just one (darling) daughter. We would have no trouble paying the full price of the holiday but we are always pleased to pick up a bargain. As such we feel a tiny bit gulity that goldie-bambino has missed out. I would like to send a paypal donation of £20 for you to pass on to her. Hopefully others will feel the same and make similar donations. This way she will hopefully receive enough funds to buy a holiday of her choosing. Can you provide a paypal account for us to send the donation to?
I HAVE BEEN OFF LINE FOR A WHILE SO HAVE ONLY JUST SEEN YOUR POST STABILO. I AM VERY TOUCHED BY YOUR KIND OFFER THANKYOU
BUT ID BE GREATFUL IF YOU DONATED THE £20 TO A GOOD CHILDRENS CHARITY INSTEAD.:T
THANKYOU X0 -
We got back from Prestatyn on Monday and had a great time in Wales.
We stayed in a club apartment and I didn't think much of the apartment or the holiday camp, we used it as a base and explored the surrounding areas. The apartment was fairly clean but the microwave was really rusty, we didn't get the vouchers for our free papers and the digital TV wasn't working! Also they only supply towels for 2 people, you have to go to the service staff for more between the hours of 9.30 am and 5pm!
I don't want to sound ungratefull, If I'd paid full price for this I'd be really upset but thanks to Pondie1 we only paid £55 and had a great break, which I needed because I'd had a stressfull week, so a BIG thank you.
For anyone looking for this type of holiday in future, Haven cost the same and are MUCH better.Desperately seeking [STRIKE]Mr. Squiggles,[/STRIKE] car and garage, [STRIKE]surf board, ball, funhouse,[/STRIKE] wheel, slide and pet carrier :rotfl::santa2::think: :snow_laug0 -

Hi buddhabellybutton, hope it wasn't my step kids and mother in law that annoyed you so much you left early0

For anyone going to Pontins soon - remember to pack long-sleeved tops and track-bottoms for kids activities - also long socks. We had to go to Matalan in Southport cos DD only had crop trousers and t-shirts so wouldn't be allowed to do several activities.0
