A very pleasant Victorian-style shopping street (Lord Street)
All the other shops you would expect in a large town
A lovely new pier with a great coffee bar and arcade games that take "old" pennies
An inland lake - you can hire boats etc
    Botanical gardens (at Churchtown)
    A air of refinement.

    Prestatyn
    Not quite the same.

i've been to prestatyn too (not at pontins) its nice enough, with a lovely beach area, and a few shops but is more like a village. Rhyl isn't far down the coast,(about 10-15 mins at most driving) which is a bit like blackpool, but a bit better, and there's a free outdoor paddling pool on the front there. and again a nice beach there too.
be warned though there is a "sun centre" at rhyl, which looks good from the outside, but is basically a swimming pool with a couple of water shoots and a wave pool, but its expensive, and they charge the same if your spectating as if your swimming, and when we went last year it was £6 each for the day, but its not really a day out sort of place, just a morning really.

when i just won my holiday, she said to purchase an electricity card at reception when you book in. £1 for the card, dont know how long it lasts, but would hardly be worth upgrading for imho.

In my experience the rooms are basic but clean. You buy the electricity cards at reception for £1 each and we usually only use 2 or 3 on a mon - fri break . I personally wouldnt bother upgrading - it wouldn't be a freebie then !!

  • Another 6 for for Camber Sands on the 7th :j

Not arriving until Saturday, as we're taking the in-laws as a thank-you for baby sitting on Friday night.

Even OH couldn't grumble about missing a night he hadn't paid for, so I get to have my cake & eat it. :D

Managed to book, yesterday morning, but couldn't post as ringing made me late :o . Well worth it though :T

Is anyone driving to camber sands from London on 7th July coming back on the 10th? If you have two free seats in your car please let me know :T Me and my fiance would love to share petrol costs with you as a train ticket would cost us considerably more...

I've got quick read car window stickers too! and a few book tokens to give away :-)

Please pm me, I would be very very thankful...

PS: We are very nice and well behaved people :-)

Definitely try again, I only did it about an hour ago and got on. Dates and locations are very limited now though.

    Good luck.
