yeah. that driver is basically direct from the manufacturer. so shouldnt have any problems.
BTW, you need to hover over the file name in the table that suits your windows build but it wont come up with the usual cursor for a link it keeps the text cursor, double click on the file name with the text cursor and it should start the download.0 -
It only takes 10 mins to install the setup files (automatically) the another 10 mins for the auto complete to finalize . What one earth are you doing... Not your faulty I know but I have done a few and all been really easy. You need the drivers for the LAN/WIFI to be on hand but that's all.
1) Boot from DVD (even a memory stick) and let it install.
2) Drink beer0 -
So, does the driver install and the wifi does not turn on? What happened before with Vista - was there some software for turning the wifi on and off? You may need to load that as well (this could be separate from the wifi driver - it would be a utility provided by Fujistu).0

Hello.
The install of win7 is taking about an hour. I tried the driver and it didn't work so yes i'm back on vista again.
I found the file for the wan connection thing (I have to press FN and F1 before I can even connect to a wifi connection)
It is found in a file in the windows old file under launch manager, but this file is missing on the win7 install.
I have since discovered that it is on the driver disc that I got with the laptop but I can't install it onto win7 as it says there is a file missing?
totalsolutions - I don't think I know what i'm doing anymore. I have never had a problem installing software in my life - still first time for everything.
I've built a gaming pc - but I can't put win7 on a laptop
Tentonine - I put the drivers in and when i press fn and f1 nothing happens.
I'm going to leave it now until monday as I have an essay to write.
I'm also going to have a look for a launch manger programme - I'm sure it has something to do with this.

It is a bit confusing, isn't it?what version of win 7 are you trying to install, premium, professional or ultimate, 32 or 64 bit, upgrade or full version, and what was on the machine before
I bought an upgrade to find that I couldn't upgrade from Vista Home 32-bit to 7 Pro 32-bit (I really wanted 64-bit anyway).
So I tried upgrading my Vista home to Ultimate to see if I could upgrade that to 7, but Vista wouldn't let me upgrade from home to ultimate.
The 7 upgrade says I can do a fresh install but I'm not sure if I believe it.
So basically Windows 7 upgrades are all a bit of a mess.0 -
Yes they are. I was even considering putting my old xp disc on here and seeing if that would work but that would bring me back to the problem of drivers.
I am pulling my hair out here - seems I have a laptop that refues to upgrade and no support from manufacturers as they don't provide support for win7.Payment a day challenge: £236.69

I give up. WIthout the driver to lauch the thing it isn't going to work. SO, putting back on my trial version and will change the 64 pro to ultimate as I know that works and will just need the serial number to authemticate it.
Thank you all for your help - I really do appreciate it.
p.s will never buy a laptop that need buttons to start the wi-fi ever again.Payment a day challenge: £236.69

what happens if you put the trial version back on then click upgrade and when it asks you to pay click on I have already got key then put in win 7 key from version you bought, should do the upgrade and use existing drivers. Just a suggestion0

You should be able to get launch manager working - it is available for download on the Fujitsu website (it is always best to get the lastest version from the website rather than using an older version on the CD or DVD that came with the computer). Go to the following address, select your computer and Windows Vista x64. Then look under "Tools and Utilities" for launch manager. If it doesn't work, you could try running it in Windows Vista compatibility mode (or even XP SP2 compatibility mode).

I have read on another website that installing launch manager is the key to getting the wireless card working on Fujistu laptops under Windows 7. I have also seen people say that the version at the link above (when selecting your computer) works under Windows 7. I think I found the script that you mentioned earlier - it relies on launch manager and will not work without it.0
