Big problem installing windows 7

Well, it's big to me as I've been at it for hours.
I have a 64 bit win7 disc.
I have an fujitsu whatsit Li 2727

I ran the upgrade advisor and it said my laptop could take it
Upon intalling it though I found I could not access the wireless lan (you have to press two buttons)

So after reinstalling visata then win7 most of the afternoon I went to fujitsu website for a driver - only to find out this laptop won't take win 7

Any advice?

    Is it this?

Should take Windows 7. I assume you have the 32bit DVD as well? If so, give that a try.
  • That's the one.
I have two pc's and ordered both a 32 and 64 bit but they sent me two 64's instead.

It's only the wireless thing causing a problem, everything else is fine.

    just use the vista drivers

vista and win7 share the same code just like win2000 & XP did

what version of win 7 are you trying to install, premium, professional or ultimate, 32 or 64 bit, upgrade or full version, and what was on the machine before

You don't need to use Fujistu's version of the driver. Who actually made the wireless card? e.g. if it was made by Intel, you can just go to the Intel website to get the Windows 7 driver. Also, did you uninstall the wireless driver that was used by Vista? Finally, you might also be able to find a driver using Windows update.

Thanks for all yout help. It's a 64 bit professional.
I actually had ultimate on here before (trial) and I had no problems whatsoever.

Hadn't though about intel (I know it i intel ) - how do I find out what one I have?

    Did a crucial scan it says - Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 560 @ 2.13GHz Model 6, Stepping 1

    would that be the one?

Found what network i've got - atheros AR5007eg wireless network adapter

just use the vista 64bit drivers from here. 99% of the time they should work in win7.

    is it this one here
  • That's an Intel CPU, not an Intel wireless adapter - so you would want an Atheros wireless driver and not an Intel wireless driver. Is that what you found?
Update: sorry, didn't see the other posts in the last 2 minutes!
