  • I would contact apple about the lack of charger - they did eventually send me one - especially you guys who are having problems as you cannot do the three rs that apple recommend. So it is prtty poor show to then want a tenner off you as they don't give you the tools to try and repair it yourself..

In itunes when you put a CD in to copy it all the songs are ticked, is there an easy way to untick all the songs, all i seem to be able to do is untick them individually??
  • select the tracks by clicking on the first, and the holding shift while you click on the last. Then right-click and choose uncheck selection

I'm still having problems. I can't get mine to connect to my pc at all.. I've also just tried to do a restore but without the ac adaptor I can't complete it.. grr..

another thought - I have had some success with leaving the ipod plugged into the computer USB port overnight (with the pC on, of course). As it takes a while to get enough charge into the battery when they are completely flat.

When doing the iPod updates, just half insert the USB cable in the PC USB port and it will trick the iPod into thinking its got a wall charger plugged in. (I know it sounds a bit strange but it does work!)

it doesn't work.. or at least I can't get it to..

Mine is now fully charged - because when they tested it they charged it.. but it still won't connect to the pc properly.. I can't get itunes or windows to recognise it as an ipod rather than just a hard disk.

I had this problem too, until I got the charger from Apple. Initially they said it wasn't included on refurbs, but when I read out the listed items from the instruction manual, they agreed to send one free of charge.

Ok, sorry guys but after a big favour please. AppleUK aren't believing that the instruction manual states that the iPod should include the iPod USB Power Adaptor. Is there some kind soul that can please scan the page (as I don't have a scanner myself) and send it to me? I'd *really* appreciate it after spending 15 minutes on the phone only to be told that Apple haven't shipped iPods with adaptors for over a year when I know they have!
    Thanks, Britlad.

I ended up going to the apple store in the trafford centre and getting it restored there - has been fine since - although I could do with a charger.. grrr.

I contacted apple and they told me to !!!!!! off when I told them I wanted one free of charge seeing as my ipod wasn't working.

Hmm, you're right. It's on page 8 of the "Getting Started" booklet. I remember at the time I purchased it the description definately didn't include a charger (or adaptor) just the usb cable & headphones.

If you really, really need the scan I can do it later on (but it will be a ball-ache on my part). I know there wasn't one included but if you want to try it on fair enough.

I bought a charger off ebay for £5.

Here's the scan, it wasn't as much trouble as I thought it would be: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=933BA66708AE5AEA
