I think 4gb IPOD mini has 12hrs battery life vs 18 for thr 6gb. From memory when boots did £100 deals at least.

Refurbs are probably going to fare worse, rather than bette.
    Be nice

They are the first generation minis, and the quoted battery life is 8 hrs. They are still a good price, but don't come with the beltclip or power supply as the original 1st gen minis did (and I am arguing with apple about this)

I have bought a couple of these - the first when they were £80 and got the beltclip, but not power supply, so I emailed and they sent me one.
The latest ones came with neither, and Apple now say they only come with the essentials, and that unless it specifically says something is included, then it isn't.

I am still arguing with them, but don't hold out much hope - so I guess it may well be pot luck if you get the beltclip or not.....

I got a mains-to-USB plug from local computer fair for a fiver, it looks like a normal three-pin mains plug with a USB socket in it. Charges refurb mini OK.

@bad-head-day: Silicone cases vary a lot. I recommend getting a branded one if you want to protect the iPod properly. A friend of mine had a cheap one which they paid a couple of quid for which didn't protect the screen and caused it to get very scratched. Later on their iPod stopped working altogether and according to Apple this was due to using a case which had no proper ventilation. Not sure how accurate that was from Apple but after seeing the screen the scratches alone were enough to put me off.

When I bought my girlfriend an ipod mini I also got a proper iSkin mini case. Although these were retailing for £17 or so at the time by being patient on ebay we eventually got one for about £6-7 delivered. It fits perfectly, has a screen protector, removable belt clip and the ventilation holes.

It is important to make sure you get one that is specifically for your ipod though. After just buying a 20GB photo myself I decided to look for an iSkin and it needs the iSkin eVo2 case. I found that you have to be careful as the 4th generation ipods are slightly different sizes depending on the model.

    Size A - iPod 20GB, iPod photo 30GB, Colour iPod 20GB
    Size B - iPod 40GB, iPod photo 40/60GB, Colour iPod 60GB

I eventually ordered mine from a site called mp3essentials which had reduced the price to £4.98 (+ £2.49 p+p) which they normally sell for £11.99. This was cheaper than any genuine iSkin eVo2's I could see on ebay. I guess the reduction is is due to everyone wanting the new eVo3 cases for the iPod with video.

    Hope this helps someone.

    Cheers

    Dan

Mine just arrived. Looks completely new and is factory sealed. No marks on back of case at all so simply cannot have been used! Comes with sealed ear phones with separate pads, and USB2 cable (all in sealed bags). Did the original retail product come with the charging cable or not? I know it charges through USB anyway...
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!
