The prices of ipods on the refurb website are RIDICULOUS!! You can get them cheaper at a load of other outlets, ebuyer to name one are offering the 30gb, and nano's for less, with free shipping, than a refurb jobbie from apple. Even a brand spanking new 60Gb ipod is only an extra fiver compared with the rip-off refurb site!

Edit: The white 60Gb ipod on ebuyer is also cheaper than a scummy refurb from apple!

Why would you ever pay more for a scratched (possibly), repaired (possibly) second hand unit??

Ipod photos may have been going cheap, but the current video ipods are NOT a bargain at all.

They might be ridiculous at the moment but they weren't last week. I got a 30gb Ipod Photo for £70 & its not scratched, looks more like new to me.

Thank you for your educated response . The ipod photo is an old model, and is therefore reduced in price. This appears to be a bargain, if your happy to take the risks outlined in the Terms and Conditions at Apple Store.

I made no comment on the old model ipod photo, as this is likely to be difficult to buy at a store anyway. I knew SOMEBODY would misunderstand my post and throw his/her dummy out of the pram (and it was odds on that it'd be somebody who'd bought a refurb).

If you calmly read my post again, you will see that I was WARNING people about paying more for a REFURB than a BRAND NEW item!

**The ipod video costs more as a refurb item than it costs NEW.**
Would you buy the refurb? No?

**The ipod nano costs more as a refurb item than it costs NEW.**
Would you buy the refurb? I didn't think so.

    DO I STUTTER?

    Halfwit? moi? :rotfl:

Mine has been returned for repair and found there's nothing wrong with it!!!! ARGHARGHARGH - now what? It won't work at all at my end.. so why is there nothing wrong with it when they test it? :'( Especially as they want to charge me over £10 for the pleasure. grrrrrrrrr.
  • If nothing happens with it at all, it could be like mine was, where it would only work with an ac adaptor (i think they supply more amps than the usb cable) if the battery is very low on charge, this seems to be the only way to charge them up. It's a bit stupid that you don't get one, when it seems one is sometimes required (they are also needed to do a restore)

I got a mini for my son and it had to be charged with the ac adaptor. Luckily I had one from my Nano because the USB cable won't do anything with a completely flat battery.

I'm still having problems. I can't get mine to connect to my pc at all.. I've also just tried to do a restore but without the ac adaptor I can't complete it.. grr..
