oakdale_minx wrote:PS - ZTD - is your name Trinity (you said you say 'focus Trinity')...........cool name if it is..........
It is a cool name, but alas it isn't mine. The phrase is a direct lift out of the Matrix, and it's become adopted as a bit of a catchphrase alas.
It replaced the previous catchphrases of "You're flapping!" and "You're going to take off, you're flapping so much!"
It's used on me, I use it on other people. I don't tend to flap much except in the pastries section. Then "distracted" becomes my middle name."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
"We were born and raised in a summer haze." Adele 'Someone like you.'
"Blowing your mind, 'cause you know what you'll find, when you're looking for things in the sky." OMD 'Julia's Song'0 -
hi - a message for the user (initals BCB - just in case you wanted to stay anon!!) who PM'd me - it won't send you one back for some weird reason/
wow -thankyou - i'm really touched that you took the time!!
the abbey are going to pay me back big time for all the misery they have caused me .

Was v.v. naughty.
Had a takeaway pizza for dinner last night.
It was just too hot to cook, I cook from scratch 7 nights a week and thought , stuff it.
Told OH who had a minor wobbly 'well, it's a takeaway or petrol' until I told him I was paying then he was fine....Ahem...
Takes the shopping budget to £64 for the month and I don't need to go to the supermarket until Friday now.
Popped my prelim letter in the post to citicards , another ball rolling to get charges back.
Got paid by IMS this morning! yayy!! I've been very good and I've transferred the £21 I spent on my CC over from my bank account this morning as I promised I would. Had no work at all though this month from them, so at the moment, only have £38 from Greasypalm to expect next month, so i'll have £120 cash spare for shopping and everything else.
Should get a CD from CD Wow this week, I used my piggy points to get a new release and I'll pop it straight on ebay when it arrives.
Keep repeating my mantra (this cosmic ordering malarkey Noel Edmonds is into)
capital one statements to be delivered soon
capital one statements to be delivered soon
capital one statements to be delivered soon
ommmmmmmmmm........(that's my meditating bit after my mantra..........)
Sorry, it's the heat........me and a predicted 32 degrees don't go together at all!0 -
woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :j :j :j
Did my daily check in with my abbey current a/c and they've suddenly refunded me £90 in charges!! Totally unexpected!! Well, I was surprised at how high they were this month and they have refunded all three of the £30 ones and just charged me the £20 fo going over my o/d limit.
That means I've now got £136 to last until the end of the month!! Very happy girl. :T :T
I'm still going to be careful though - I'm aiming to have at least £50 left to chuck at a CC on top of the normal monthly payments at the end of the month.
I'll adjust my charge claim spreadsheet to knock off the £90, I don't want them to say I'm claiming for something I've had refunded already!
I've just reported my success on the 'money is coming easily to me ' thread - it's made my day! :j0 -
Hey oakdale,
Brilliant news! I'm so pleased for you!

Good luck:j0 -
well, quite an interesting day.
Didn't get to do my AQA training last night as the trainer had to re-shedule which was a bit of a bummer. It's tomorrow night now, but I'm really chomping at the bit to get going. I keep getting PM's from the company asking me to log on as they are very busy and it's frustrating as I know Ican't as I haven't been trained.
This morning I've had two mytery shopping companies email me with jobs and I've taken two with one company (one involving a free meal for two - yum yum!) and then one with another company. I was offered seven jobs in total, but the petrol and the parking outweighed the payment with some of them.
Had a letter from the abbey about my surprise £90 refund and in response to the letter before action for my claim for the £2904 refund. Apparently it was a gesture of goodwill to refund the £90 because
" it is not our intention to penalise for one off lapses"..........oh, how sweet..........erm, what about the other three grand or so I'm wanting refunding?????
I'm waiting for a message on the CAG board to see if Ican now go ahead with this claim early as they've said it is their 'final resolution letter'....I hope so!!
Was a bit naughty with Barclaycard. When I phoned them last month, they agreed to reduce my APR from 29.9% to 19.9%. However, my statement says it has gone down to 25.9%.
I phoned, played dumb, and said I'd been on 25.9% previously (whoops, small white lie) and that I'd been told it would be reduced. 'to what APR?' I was asked ........seizing the opportunity that it wasn't on their system that previous conversation I played stupid and said 'ooooh, can't remember, something like 14.9 or 15.9% ? Something in the teens I remember'......put on hold for a minute.......then tells me she needs to talk to another department........(hopefully not the 'on phone lie detector' department)......she comes back and says
"oh, I'm sorry, it's still being processed - you'll get a letter soon and it's going to be 15.9% from next month.........."
Re-sult!!!!:p
Call me cynical but I think they messed up and forgot to put it to 19.9........:p  :j0 -
Which just goes to show how arbitrary the % rate is to start with! Well done for having the bottle!!!!!:TA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

That's another claim filed! £3,744.08 including the 8% interest!!
and they thought a £90 goodwill gesture would satisfy me........silly silly banks.......0 -
Hi, I just wanted to say well done with everything you're doing
You and lots of others I've been reading have really inspired me to get myself sorted out and I'm now in the middle of doing an SOA and a full overhaul of my spending.
I've got approx £15000 of unsecured debt and I'm 37 in October and so I think the debt free by 40 idea is a great one! Thanks for the inspiration xxComps £2016 in 2016 - 1 wins = £530 26.2%
