    finished my essay - yaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    !

Doh! And I'd just worked out what the title meant to help you......'Marshall McLuhan:1960's zeitgeist victim or pioneer postmodernist'........... trannslates as 'ahead of his time or a bit of a t**t?' Oh well, out of interest, what was he????

    Well done you!!!!!!
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

He certainly was!!!! ..........a t**t that is!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Oh, I see what you mean (I think!) He was some 1960's 'groovy' theorist who came out with lots of bizarre random slogans for postmodernism and the media - think he probably spent the whole time off his head on weird drugs. Think I needed some weird drugs to understand half the stuff I've been attemptig to read.

Oh well, if Iget a rubbish mark I'll say 'ah yes, but with post modernism, there is no absolute truth. What is rubbish for you, is a masterpiece for another. So stick that in your pipe and smoke it (and can I have a better mark now please?)'

OH says no problem to becoming a text operator. He said all I'm doing is fulfilling a service need. I said it was text prostitution. Might send the form off for a laugh though.

i really have a problem with courses in creative thinking. the premise is that they encourage individual thinking but only within a set framework. how else could they mark your essays if you don't subscribe to the ideas set out in their answer guide.....i find all this confusing (i have a diploma in music from the OU and need one more course for a degree in humanities....what am i waffling about)

glad you finished your essay. and i charge you to do half an hour of reading for your next assignment today please....thank you very much :D
(no really, i expect you to do it....:D)

oooooh i want to website address for that text thingy too!! that would be a right laugh.....can i have it pleeeeeze?:D

i'm very pleased for you that you've finished. but you really need to ease up on yourself with the negativity. many a truth was spoken in jest. when you make negative jokes about yourself, your mind just keeps repeating what was said and eventually a part of you starts believing it. i just want to encourage you to be as positive as possible with yourself...that's all

okay, mummy hat away. hope you have a nice day today.

There's a good module starting next year about modern music, I was going to do it, seemed really interesting, can't remember the title, but it starts next Feb. I was going to do the essay about globalisation, but I didn't get through the reading in time. I also hate 'woolly' subjects where there is no definite right or wrong. But I was up against it time wise, so i'll take whatever mark I get and just be grateful I finished it!

OK! I didn't finish the globalisation stuff, so I do need to read it, apparently it's relevant for the rest of the course

    OK Mum :p

Woke up with a head cold today, good job I was disciplined and did my work yesterday.

Going off to Asda later with my precious £5.50. I reckon I can get stuff to last until the end of Tuesday/lunch Wednesday. It's a challenge and I'm up for it! :T i'm determined not to use the £21 in my a/c unless Ireally really have to - I'd love to get to the 15th when my IMS money gets in and have not touched it.

    Sniff.........sneeze........:o

Got quite a haul from the money left in my purse, was really pleased, not really sure about the quality of a whole chicken costing £1.80, but needs must!

Have enough food until Thursday lunch, then if I can have a root around for any change around the house I might be able to get some mince to do shepherds pie as I managed to get a huge bag of potatoes reduced to 60p yesterday.

Sent an email to AQA asking if I hade been successful as I've not heard either way.

Tried applying for the text operator job, but got an email saying it had been rejected and had to re-apply as I was supposed to send it through the post (even though the website says to email!!!) Not too happy about sending ID and my bank details to some company I don't know , and I've decided that I'm not really comfortable doing the job however 'ok' my OH says he is about it. If I were single it would be different, but not whilst I'm in a relationship.

I'm really crossing my fingers to get some statements through soon. Only one of the two cheques has been cashed, but I now enjoy looking for charges, after all the years of not wanting to find them!!

EDIT: Just had a look at Saturdays paper and Lush are looking for Xmas staff in their factory. Might give them a ring to see if they want any weekend staff. Love the smell of Lush, might hate the smell of it if I work there!

Been accepted by AQA!! :T  :j

Got an email back saying they had emailed me on 30 June, but it seems it got lost somewhere.

    Very pleased with this.

Managed to find £2.35 in change around the house so I can get dinner for Thursday night , and I'm getting very low on hairspray - a definite necessity!!!!!!

Realised this morning - the 15th, the day IMS should pay me - it's Saturday!! I guess that blows my challenge out of the water really - I can't last until Monday scrabbling around for change to buy food for dinner.

letter waiting for me - £76 in charges refunded from the Natwest. hurrah!!!

they refused point blank to refund them over the phone so I started the process to get them back 'officially' - at least it means my savings account isn't £76 overdrawn any more.

Can't see the other money being as easy to get back, but its a start!

Did my budgeting for next month. Awful.

After all the bills and the minimum payments on the cards have been made, I'll have a total of £85 left for the month. For everything. I've not done any mystery shopping or merchandising audits yet this month to expect payment in August, even though I'm checking every day for anything in my area.

I might have to use the credit card next month for some shopping.

I shouldn't have any bank charges next month (I hope!) I think I might have to have a dig around for some stuff to ebay. I've managed to eek out the food budget this month as I've used up everything in the freezer .

AAAAaaaaarrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhh..........sorry, slight scream of frustration there........:o

Havent' had a greasypalm cheque this month. I've got £38 in my pending box, but no money . I can only think that it refers to the next payment run, but it's odd as I normally get a cheque every month. Ah well, at least that will be £38 to add to my £82 funds next month!

Went to Asda last night and took all my change. Somehow mis calculated by just over £1 and had to dip into my precious £21. Thought about it as Ileft the supermarket - how did I get into a situation where I'm panicking about £1 here, £1 there?

Hopefully AQA will get my contract today and then i'll get my log in and I can start answering questions - I'll be a walking font of useless knowledge after a few weeks!

I can do my letter before action for my big Abbey claim - it will be close to £3,000 with this month's fees and then the 8% interest on top when I file a court claim two weeks later!
