Bit of news!
Both my Citicards bank charges claim and my first Abbey claim have been given a hearing date of 22 Feb. The court is having a mass clearout of all outstanding bank charge claims on that date. I guess they want as many banks etc as possible to refund in full.
So hopefully that means i'll get my £700 from Abbey a couple of days before that, but I bet Citi will keep on fighting!!
As i'm in court on Friday for my big Abbey claim I'm going to be sorting paperwork tonight, but as they hearing is only to see if the stay can be lifted I can't see it being resolved before or on Friday. Wouldn't surprise me if the stay was lifted and the court date was set for 22 Feb along with the other two.0 -
The bearings on the water pump were shot away but I guess I might have got away with not replacing that for now after all although who is to say it might have then gone next week - they had to remove the water pump to find the burning smell anyway!smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

I agree. My OH called me at work and he did whinge and moan as I expected, but I explained that if I had bought a manual, bought the pump and he had taken half a day to do it, I would still have had the burning smell and smoke 500 metres down the road as he wouldn't have been looking for this problem, or known that the belt should have had grooves in it. i'd have then still had to take it to the garage, the fault identified (and it was only found when the pump had been removed), the part ordered and the labour paid for.
He grudgingly agreed..........I'm going to ask for some money towards it from him as I've put in the last 3 lots of petrol (£30) even though i've been telling him when i've been low on fuel and him promising to pay for it.0 -

No problem PercyPig!!!
The car was £120. I said I would pay part cash (the £50 from my parents) and part cheque. He has said that I don't have to pay him until Monday which means he won't bank the cheque until the day after payday (good bloke!!)
Asked my OH for some contribution (as he hasn't paid for the last 3 lots of petrol) and he has said 'he'll sort something out'........
Garage gave it a good look over and agreed that the cam belt is too tight, so that will be the next job. They also gave it a bit of a tweak to make it run smoother . He thought I'd got myself a good car.0 -
I cant believe your OH! I hope you are not wasting your precious fridge contents on him (or if he asks for dinner tell him you will "sort him something out..." and leave it at that!!!
maybe he will get the hint

Car still ain't right........its running lovely and smoothly but I drove it to the supermarket and it started to smell of rubber again. I've realised it happens every time I am either in a low gear (parking/going up driveway) or sat at lights or a roundabout. I wonder if it is a clutch problem, the biting point is very high......:(
Off to court in just over an hour to see if I can get the stay lifted on my big abbey claim. The court are having a big hearing in February for all the bank charge cases locally, so I think the judge will remove the stay and give me the 22 Feb as the hearing date along with all the others. I'm going to request an earlier date and play the financial hardship card.
Just checked my bank account online and, nope, they haven't deposited £3,800 overnight.......so I guess I'm off to see the Judge!
Nervous already!0
