  • Hey, well done O_M!

As has been said, calm and contentment comes when you know you have done what is right for you. The worry and fear is a symptom of the assessment of the options - you are now past that and you know what you will do whatever the outcome. This is how it feels to have control of your own life ; )

We have only recently met in cyberspace, but I can honestly say, as can many others, that I am immensely proud of you. I am smiling again!

Hi O-M - just spent the best part of 90mins reading through all of this and you have done so well since the start of the thread not only with debts but as others have said - your confidence has changed a huge amount and you are now ready to face the world head on! She must have been really p*ssed off to see that you stood up to her. Mr EL and I have faced (and still are facing) a Cruella type character and can honestly relate to how much energy and happiness they zap from your life. I hope you keep going from strength to strength and that somehow your OH will wake up one day amd magically realise what an amazing woman he gets to wake up to every day.

aaaaaw, thankyou EL......although he nearly always wakes up whinging that I've nicked the quilt when it is him who spends every night cocooned over his head with it and i'm tugging on a little corner to keep warm!!!!!!!!

I've been a bad girl and think I need my hand smacking......:o

A chap knocked on the door who runs a gourmet food dellivery round. He has never been down my road before and opened up his van to what I can only describe as a foodies fantasy........

£91 later and a freezer chock full of a huge box of cheese topped thai crab cakes as well as 8 enormous brie, spinach, hazlenut, mushroom and cranberry wellingtons and 12 amazing looking orange charlottes...........whoops...........

I think I need to hold a dinner party - fancy this as a menu anyone?!

It could have been worse. I nearly also bought 16 half pounder steak burgers and 2 kg of really big batter covered chicken nuggets (the ones you get in sweet and sour chicken from the chinese takeaway) and 48 profiteroles filled with fresh cream and chocolate sauce sachets which sadly went back into his van with an inaudible whimper from me.....

I've asked him to come back the day after Easter Monday. Although their list of items for sale reads like an a la carte restaurant menu, I promise I will only buy 1 item........:o

go on enjoy yourself..... but spread it out, not all at once....
smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to.... ;)
  • HI OM,
I had ones of those van guys around and only could afford to buy a HUGE box of undyed smaoked haddock but it lasted us months and was the BEST smoked haddock ever! I keep looking out for him and he's not been round, sigh...

I'm glad things are getting resolved with work! You'll probably find Cruella will be completely diffeent now that she no longers has a 'hold' on you. What a first class beyatch she is.

I will also GLADLY come down to test your lovely food for you and help freee up some freezer space for the profiteroles...

  • Hi OM....Well done on dealing so well with Cruella and HR. (big HUG as I can't find the smilies on the PC!!).
When the Gourmet Man calls again after Easter, why don't you quiz him about what the market is like in your area for the kind of food he's selling....(market research?) so then if you are still going for the chocolate option you have an idea of where to try first for selling it...if you see what I mean
  • I don't mean to take his trade away ... but maybe you'll get a steer as to where there's a gap in the market. ;) (now I've found the smilies!!!! )
