arghhh:eek:
i've got to post 68 perhaps your oh has improved since thenif so i apologise:o
anyway based on what i have read he seems like a freeloader - how dare he eat for free at your house for years ( you are having to factor in his visits as expenditure without rent / board). his house will be increasing in value ( as will yours hopefully!) without him having any real costs apart from mortgage & ct & insurance.
hopefully my views are way out of date and this has all been resolved. i will read on and find out:love: married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090 -
Well, the morning after the night before...........the beetroots are boiling for my chocolate beetroot cake and I've had a big yellow sticker special breakfast of pancakes!
Told OH what had happened and he said 'well done' but then started going on and on and ON about the letter I had had sent to me just before the meeting - she wants you gone, you wants to sack you, gross misconduct, you'll get no redundancy'.......I said 'stop saying things like that. It is NOT a disciplinary meeting, it is her sticking the knife in because she is trying every trick to demoralise me even further.'
Shall I tell you my crime? I missed a flexible deadline. That's it. With everything else she chucks at me each day as well as my own workload and the extra with my colleague being on maternity leave, i just did not have the time to fit the work in and I've apologised and said I would like another deadline. That is why I am being hauled in front of HR. I think she thought giving me the letter just before the meeting would unnerve me and make me grateful for whatever I was offered. Nope. Anyway, the new me has a few things to say at this meeting about just how could I have been in the job for 7 years and have glowing appraisals and then in the last 6 months now be portrayed as being absolutely crap at my job?? I've got nothing to lose now. I'll stay professional but I will now put my points across.
Woke up in the night thinking about it all.
I have to be realistic and think that after I give her my decision, I may be out of work after three months. My redundancy will be about £19,000. I have sat and worked the figures in my head, and using AQA and pulling in the reins, I could last three years before the money ran out. If I wasn't able to get a job in three years, I would need shooting!!
I don't think it will come to that though. I work in a large organisation and am very flexible. I love doing research work and that is very 'in' at the moment.
the search for carpets will be put on hold until I know what the situation is. It would be silly to spend almost the equivalent of a mortgage payment on carpets when I could be out of a job in just over three months.
I've been told to take my time thinking about my decision about whether to take her graciously offered trial or to tell her to stuff it and go for re-deployment with a department who might actually appreciate me.....she wants the new structure to start 1 April......31 March sounds good to me....0 -
Well done Minxy!
Thats totally fab news that you stood up to her. I let my old cruella have it on my last day and it was extremely gratifying. But you are doing even better and tackling it head on 'in the moment' so you go girl.
Revel in that feeling and remember what its like whenever you feel the butterflies when Cruella is peddling her lies.
You are the better person and her crappy management style will filter through the system and will earn her the reputation she deserves. Evidently this has already started with that letter stunt. Down with Cruella come on altogether now....0 -

How supportive is he?oakdale_minx wrote:I have to be realistic and think that after I give her my decision, I may be out of work after three months. My redundancy will be about £19,000. How much of a mortgage do you have? Is that "secured debt" in your sig exclusive of it?
Remember you don't have to go all the way to £0 before you'd qualify for income support, and JSA is based on your contributions - though only lasts 6 months."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Hi OM - things are really moving along!
My OH was in a similar situation and took redundancy in the end (strange how they got rid of all of the women-of-child-bearing-age). She didn't get anywhere near to what you could get, but found that not having to go to work actually seemed to save money!
More time for e-baying, less to spend on work clothes/food/travelling. Initially, she had enough for 3 months but stretched it out to 9 before having to work again.
However, it did involve her getting addicted to food programmes on TV (e.g. Master Chef) - not that I'm complaining (nice food - yum).

5 hours + I've been reading this!
The car thing- Karma. You have done a good turn to someone who needed it. You have paid it forward. Just hope that everyone in this world will pay it forwards at least once in their lives and the world will be a better place.
Cruella- once again Karma! She'll get what's coming.
Underlay I bought from ebay. I can't remember what it's called but it isn't rubber. When it arrived it was a huge roll of what looked like camping roll mats but pale blue and I thought OMG I've been done. It was the best underlay I have ever bought in my life. We laid the same carpet over it as we had in DS room and when you walk on it it feels like ££££. The noise and heat insulation are excellent. I told DH we should get grippers etc from the same company but he didn't want to. His brother bought Grippers from them about a month later and did his entire house for what we paid for one room. Next time we get their grippers! I think the one we got was cloud 9. I'm afraid I don't remember the seller and can't check it as it was a year ago but it was a shop and I phoned them on the off chance at 5.50pm got an answer and was told to order it buyitnow and would get it by Friday (on a Tuesday). It arrived before lunch on the Wednesday.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0
