phew. Not sure how many calories 'banging ice with the end of a broom and sweeping it up' burns in an hour but it's woken me up!! Managed to clear an area outside the door about 6 feet by 1 foot. It's immediately filled back up with water so it will be frozen again in the morning. I've emailed my water company to ask if they'll come and look at the drains between the top of my garden and the end of garden above me, it's getting beyond a joke.
