Just received a letter from DS1's college and as his attendance dropped below 90% last term (he had flu really badly and was off for a fortnight) they are not paying his £14 travel allowance for the whole of this half term which equates to £84:mad:
I am aware that they only get the allowance if their attendance is of an acceptable level but I really think that this is a bit harsh.
Lou I would write them a letter stating that while you agree 80% attendance might be seen as low if they saw the days he had off that it wasn't a day here, 2 days there, another day here etc and that he had a block of 2 weeks off due to severe flu they would surely review itI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. Just started to snow lightly again here but "heavy accumulation" due later according to MET office
Had to light a fire as well as have the heating on earlier - just got soooooo cold.....warmed up now though.
Going to cook DH a nice anniversary dinner of chicken in sweet chilli jam with sweet potato, parsnip and carrot mash...some garlicky buttery corn cobs and a bottle of fizz or two to wash it down."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Thanks Buffy and Elfen
It is a mixture of things really. A couple of work issues, which I need to calm down about, the snow, health blah blah!
Should just be glad I am in the warm and not having to venture outside. My SW class has been cancelled tonight, so at least my daughter doesn't have to drive, which I was worried about.
I shall cheer up now.OD [STRIKE] £2600 [/STRIKE] £0 :j Loan [STRIKE]£9500.00[/STRIKE] £0 :j Car [STRIKE]£3150[/STRIKE] £0 :j Moving Costs [STRIKE]£1300[/STRIKE] £0 :j Savings £1150 :j
