I am ashamed to say that I have experimented by walking in a straight line and 99% of people don't move out your way. I'm with you Paddy's mum, I was always brought up to be considerate and to open doors for others, the amount of times that the favour hasn't been returned is considerable.

Isn't that sad? Yet another example of selfishness in our society. It's a growing majority....but why?

Has anyone ever walked round a shopping centre and decided to walk in a straight line rather than move out the way of every other selfish shopper?
:rotfl: Wouldn't dream of it, half the women in my local shopping centre weigh twice what I do and the other half are gawping at the latest txt on their mobies. I'd be bouncing around like a pinball :rotfl:

Has anyone else noticed that as you get older, your Mother sits on your shoulder whispering in your ear ... and you hear yourself parroting what she says?

Oh no young lady - I'll have a fresh piece thank you. None of that dry old stuff you're trying to give me.

... and if I have to tell you one more time ...!

You can think yourselves lucky. When I was your age, I had to ...

(and that old chestnut 'manners cost nothing, young man')!! [Sorry, southoftheriver :rotfl:]

  • There are lots of reasons why and I think I know most of them. The important thing is to resist joining the ill-mannered majority or we'll all be going to hell in a hand-basket before you can say "knife"
