I have reduced rate of fuel consumtion by one third, without reducing heat output. Have put some old storage radiator bricks at either side of the fire. Half a bucket of fuel provides a good fire all evening, and the bricks give out a good background heat well into the next day, just like a seventies storage radiator!
Incidentally paying £16.50 delivered for a 50k sack of smokeless ovals, called "roomheat". In Lancashire. Really satisfied.
  • Just ordered 25kg sack of NewFlame smokeless for £7.50 min of 4 delevered. Still trying it out but seems OK

what are you burning the anthracite on SurferDan?

    CC limits £26000

    Long term CC debt £0

Total low rate loan debt £3000

    Almost debt free feeling, priceless.

Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.

It's a Trianco TR45 solid fuel boiler - burns most natural and manufactured smokeless fuels.
Used for hot water and central heating
Always got hot water, bathroom is never cold in the morning
Upstairs radiators always warm due to hot water rising creating
circulation without the need for the pump to be on.
Typical gas bill about £8 per quarter as it is only used for cooking.

Great price you are getting there, here its £13 for 50 kg:(

Me mam uses it on her multi fuel stove - a half bucket lasts all day. Personally the clinkers put me off, I prefer the smokeless nuggets
