Cor blimey I'm jealous of all you lot.

Outer london and most flavours of the anthracite smokeless stuff seems to be around £11-12 for 25kg!

Ouch! That must hurt. There are still coal suppliers in London - have you tried to find one? They may be cheaper.

East Sussex here, op where are you getting your coal from? Does that work out to be a good price then?

Flipping heck its expensive down south! Almost worth taking a trip up north for the day and stocking up!

    CC limits £26000

    Long term CC debt £0

Total low rate loan debt £3000

    Almost debt free feeling, priceless.

Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.

This is from a supplier! Luckily (or not) there's the only 1 for miles in the suburb I work in, so it's easy to get to. Like I said though it's the only 1 in this corner of SE London. I think I'd have to go a fair way into kent to find the next one.

Londoners really do get ripped-off at every opportunity. One of the reasons I escaped!

Mind you, £11 for 25kgs isn't massively more than the £20.40 I'm paying for 50kg, though I suppose over a year it would mount up. I'm on the Kent/Sussex border, by the way.
  • We pay £18.25 for 50kg delivered Homefire Ovals - ive shopped around and its appears this is good price. We live in west yorks.
  • Ive heard of peat being used on fires, does anyone know anything about this or prices/usage compared with coal? Or suppliers...

How long does a 50kg bag last you?

I guess there would be some enviromental issues if the rest of the uk burnt peat as well as ireland.what with peat based compost being frowned upon.
