It's definitely not anywhere anything like that here. People are judged on merit and achievement and if anything it has been shown that ethnic minorities are still discriminate against (http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2009/oct/18/racism-discrimination-employment-undercover)
Depends where you work, in a well known multi national I used to work in you would have been right at the front of the pecking order being female and asian origin. I think they try to reflect, the customer profile but if you forceably move from majority male European to a more diverse workforce there will be casualties along the way.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
Apart from that you don't see many grounds for a conviction for treason, he just wants another form of Government just like many extremists, including many on this board. He marches, the BNP marches, they're viewed with equal disdain. Contrary to received wisdom incidentally the BNP are usually allowed to march, they do it for precisely the same reasons which is to gain publicity for their views.
Just a note on this one.
I agree with free speech, and have often been found backing up the BNP's right to free speech. However, I do feel this is somewhat different to either free speech, or using a right to march.
This is going somewhat further. It's not about free speech, it's not really about the march, it's about causing upset in order to get the message across. You could say that of the BNP, but I don't see them marching outside the gates of a mosque. There are plenty of places this march could take place to cause upset. However, the place the march is going to take place is possibly the most insulting and upsetting place he could have picked at this time.
This needs to be treated under intent to incite violence, or something like that, as it will, and we all know thats the reason for it. For me, it's overstepped the mark of free speech....and you can overstep it, the government made their own rules on this to protect themselves!0 -
That said, you can't just jump on someone because you disagree with them, and there is an insidious message which will resonate with this guy's constituency of young people on the point of radicalism which has elements of truth within it. Because it's very easy to make the argument I made, which is that we care not at all about the innocent victims of this war, yet lionise those occupying their countries. The mad mullah is not trying to win our hearts and minds, the best way to combat him is to ignore what he does and counter his arguments with logic and reason.
That may be the medias portrayal and your impression, the truth is actually far removed. Go here for reporting, warts n all about why things are going as they are in afghanistan. Drastic under resource is the problem, not the scale of the conflict.

As for dealing with radicals, we need to start deporting people, preferably to countries with less tolerance than us. They wouldnt get away with it in their own countries, I dont see why they can think they can come here instead.
The human rights act needs to be and will be thrown in the bin by the next government. Its about high time we got behind our established aims in the military; this guy would be on a one way ticket to gitmo no return required, and rightly so.0 -
Plus in first past the post, governments are elected by a minority of those voting.
But I'm leaving that discussion before I find out I'm a closet Liberal.
One of the interesting bits of democracy though is that governments and by extension economic policy is determined by people you would barely trust to take your dog for a walk. Time to impose a minimum level of qualifications for a vote I fancy.
If they are motivated enough to get off their backside and vote that would be good enough for me.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

Surely you are Joe Kingthose are exactly the places that they do march, if allowed.

I dare you to name these "extremists" on this board that you think are akin to Chaudary.
Only by those with terrorist sympathies. Drawing moral equivalence between a group such as Al-Muhajiroun which actively praises 9/11 and a mickey mouse outfit like the BNP is grotesque.
They also praised the Mumbai attacks too.......Killing 180 innocent people(including children)0 -
Be interesting to know how much some of the bears get paid and how come they can spend all day on here explaining how evil chav scroungers get money for nothing.
This particular mad mullah isn't a criminal incidentally, he just holds differing views on the relative values of brown and white people, and is pointing out there have been a fair few innocent brown people killed for no obvious benefit as well as the white people but they're less likely to be remembered in Dorset.
he could get a job though - considering he is a law graduate.
the govt that allows him to sit around preaching his nonsense is too blame. BROWN OUT.
Stupid lefties0 -
