I had an Ocado delivery yesterday and I saw the van again this morning on my road so at least some companies are taking their job seriously. :T
Mind you, Ocado always seem to be here on time with no substitutions. I think you get what you pay for with home deliveries, like everything else.

Oooh now I am peed off - no £20 voucher for me - should I contact them asking for one?:p
Today Tesco rang again to say that my order wasn't coming and that I had to re-order for a different day. When I rang to arrange a re-order I mentioned that I lost a free delivery on my christmas order. He looked it up and came back on the phone to tell me that he was sending me a £10 e-voucher.Now that I have all these e-vouchers all I need is for the weather to improve.Roll on spring!!!if i had known then what i know now0 -
I had a similar thing on 23rd december. I got a call saying my order was cancelled due to weather, if i wanted my shopping i could drive 15 miles to collect it:eek:
I was a bit upset, but more upset when i checked my bank to see the money had been taken, I emailed tesco to state how upset i was and not only could i not travel 15 miles, but also could not do any shopping anywhere else as i had no money now.
I received a phone call at 11pm, tesco had called someone in who owned a 4x4 and he delivered my shopping in his own car. They also refunded me £25 in total. I was very grateful to the driver who gave up his own time to make sure we were not eating baked beans over christmas. He also told me the tesco vans were automatic and awful in the snow. I was very impressed with their customer service and emailed them to thank them.:D
I had another delivery over new year no problems, but admit I have not ordered this week as i know it wouldnt get up the hill.0 -
I handed in my notice as an Adsa driver just before Christmas (for health reasons) and boy am I pleased I don't have to listen to / read you lot complaining about not getting your orders anymore!
My last working shifts were during the snowy weather we had leading up to Christmas and it was so dangerous to drive on and walk on. Some people's driveways were like skating rinks but we got there. On the Tuesday before Christmas my working shift should have been 4.30 - 9.30pm but I clocked off at 11.30pm!! Yes, I was late for my deliveries but took it steady and took no risks.
I'm looking out of my window from the comfort of my warm living room and it looks pretty, just like you might be... BUT IT'S BL**DY TRECHEROUS!!!!!!
I've heard from my friend/ex-colleague that my ASDA or head office have capped the orders ( I wish they had done this before Christmas too). Please stop moaning and if you do get your orders think yourself lucky.

I had my Asda order, which was made yesterday for delivery tomorrow, cancelled today. We don't have any snow and all the roads are clear so I've no idea what's going on there. If they're not intending to deliver to certain postcodes they should just prevent you ordering in the first place IMO.“Don't do it! Stay away from your potential. Rather than ordering online, if you've got your own transport, why not go shopping instead???
Don't forget your legal liability for the safety of the delivery driver whilst he/she is on your property. You have cleared all the snow and ice from his delivery route from your gate to your front door haven't you???British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
My Tesco delivery arrived as arranged tonight. I am impressed because the road is still like an ice rink. Very nice delivery guy too. Can't be an easy job at the best of times. It is great to have some shopping again though.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01
