Just a quick question Claire (nothing to do with your original question)

Do you use any products on your hair when you starighten it? I have natually curly hair too, and like you I straighten it every day but its become quite thin and if I am in a humid/damp atmoshere it starts to frizz, I use Sunsilk staight & shine (something like that) and its the best thing I've tried but always looking for new products that work (that is condition and protect my hair & keep it looking good)

    Thanks

    Sarah

    hiya sarah

i have really mad curly/frizy hair after i wash it, it is so bad i cant wear it down!!

i normally just use any shampoo i have to hand, but do have the ghd iron spray, which i use after drying it!! this seems to take away the frizz and makes it easier to straighten.

sometimes depending on the weather it can sometimes be quite static but i just plaster on the hairspray!

once i have straightened my hair it normally lasts until i next wash it. :T

    hope that has helped!!

and p.s my new ghds arrived this morning :T :T :T

well they are guarnteed for 1 year, so if you send them back to GHD (quickly before july) they should either repair them or send you a new pair! (if you have your receipt).

i think first of all you should email them and check if they will pay for the postage or any thing like that!

hi claire phoned hairdressers where i bought ghds from she said i have to send them back to ghd was not very happy! phoned trading standards and they said quote the 1979 sale of goods act which is down to the place you bought them from and within the year guarantee you are entitled to a replacement phoned back the hairdressers and explained what i was told and she said il have a word with my manager and get back to you 2mins later she rang to say i can have a replacement. i hate doing this but seeing they are under guarantee and not exactly cheap i felt why should i send them back to ghd if anyone else has this problem i hope this post helps them.

  • I had the same problem BUT i managed to get an address to send two pairs i had that were broken and they replaced the two pairs free of charge. The address is GHD POBOX 397 KEIGHLEY WEST YORKSHIRE BD20 0WX. I sent them recorded delivery and put in a covering note explaining what the problem was with them and two weeks later i received two brand new pairs FANTASTIC! I did send one pair back about 4 years ago and the chrged me £12 for a new cable but it was well worth it so give this ago!! :rotfl: :T

  • Bought GHD straighteners from ebay for my partner, the medium one, I know what you mean, there is alot to choose from. Can be mind boggling, cost around £85 with the mat also got some hair oil to prevent damage to hair from another ebayer.
I am a bloke so limited in my knowledge of these things but I know that you can't buy better than GHD and they are well worth the money.
Hope I have helped you in some little way.
  • I bought mine from a hairdressers shop cost me £100, they are the wider plates one

Was in hairdressers yesterday and was telling me tesco are selling old GHD straightners with the name scrubed of cheap (dont know price), the reason name is off as they are ghd old stock and should be sold on, might be worth a check in tesco, dont know how true it is mind you, but thats what she was telling me, and that ghd were kicking up a stink over it
