I'll private msg you as I know my husband is on MSE (not this thread though)
I just need to get things off my chest.
  • Any time Jina - if I'm not online, I'll reply asap as I always head to MSE first when I log in. I'm on most evenings and at the weekends.

A problem shared, and all that.
 What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about?

Hi all just checking in to see how you all are! Jina wellcome to the thread. I aggree with minnie spender that if you feel like harming yourself you should get advice. My daughter has in the passed cut her self. It acme as a huge shock to me and I of course blammed myself. But satrted looking for advice about this cos didn't really have a clue what to do. Found some great websites (can't remember which but will try) which gave advice for those doing it (or thinking about it ) and those close to them. Gave me a whole new insight - Its very common.

Anyway depression takes many forms and has many disguises. One persons symptoms may not be the same as anothers. It is a condition with many differing degrees and forms. If your symptoms are worrying you there is no harm in discussing them with your GP. Again PM me if I can help with anything.
I have experience from a personal and professional perspective.
  • Hello All

I have been on Cipralex Antidepressants since January 2006 (When i was 17) at first the GP started me on 10mg and now since last Friday my dose has been doubled to 20mg (I am now 18.) I was referred to the district psychiatrist but that didnt do anything for me. I have been referred to CBT but i just want to know what will the CBT entail I know i will have to wait ages for it but I just want to prepare myself for it.

Any response would be greatly appreciated

    hi
just checking in, how are yas? silly question.?

minnie how are you doing at the moment?
Slayerx glad it went ok, i am on a waiting list at the moment, i dont have alot of patience bt am willing to give anythig a go once. it can be hard to take these steps but i hope once we all get there we may feel a bit better.
jina, :hello:, i have mood swings, i have harmed myself in the past, i went for 2 weeks without eating and had very low self esteem, was all over the place really. i think it depends what kind of person you are, and how you decide to cope and handle things. i dont have a constant sadness but i have alot of things still unresolved from childhood and once i start to think thats when things can overtake me.
Jina if you have had thoughts about harming yourself then def tell your doctor, he will prob give you something and advise you to have councelling.
if you ever feel like harming yourself distract yourself, usually i try and do some tidying, housework, etc....
if you feel sad or something write things down in a notebook, then if you need to talk to someone about it we are all here. just pm us.
my depression isnt as bad as it has been, but have had everything i can handle as far as that goes.
if you need to talk about anything please PM me, you can pm anytime i am on here all the time. (i dont have a life. lol) ;) x

    (((((((((((((BIG HUGs))))))))) to all

    good morning everyone
Just woke up. I now it's late! but these few days I feel like staying in bed and think, which is bad because I think too much then I end up having headaches.
I've been waking up early before to prepare my husband's lunch, kind of motivation to wake up early. I should I should start again.

Rose07 : I have mood swings too and low self-esteem. I also have certain things from childhood which I still think about. Did you take any medication or did councelling only worked?

About harming myself, I only had thoughts but never had the courage to do it. I think it's because I don't want to cause pain to others.

I usually do the cleaning on Friday so today I know I have something to keep me busy.

    hi Jina

its good to keep yourself motivated.
im kinda just up too, bit lazy i guess but dont seem to have the get up and go at 8.
though had to get up as have to pop into work in a mo. so motivation is there.
i didnt take medication because i chose not to, i have had councelling on and off for 4 years or so. councelling worked to a point, i found that some councellors were great whilst others left me feeling worse than when i went in there in the 1st place. think it depends what you need? if you need to get things out talk then councellors can be great, you can always talk to me though too.
i found that talking helped but it hasnt made my things from childhood go away they still are there but now sometimes i know what to do if i am thinking of them, so would say that it helped to a point, yeah.

i used to think about self harming too, i was soo scared bout doing it and hurting others, but think one day i was pushed over the edge as it were, didnt see it coming and i even shocked myself.

i hope you feel bit better
when is your appointment with your doc?

    take care

monday 18th for a blood test. I want to have peace of mind because my husband is low in iron. Not good for pregnancy and baby if I have it too. My aunt has anaemia, so it might run in the family.

A child is not in our plan for now, though I'm very broody. . If I'm low in iron too, then we'll have to take even more precautions.
I've always wanted to have a blood test done so I know I'm in good health.

Day was good. Been cleaning and tidying. Applied for a few jobs. Got a few rejection letters yesterday which I guess explains why I was so down and hubby wasn't there as he's working till very late everyday :(

Anyway, I hope you all have a good week-end.
