Hi Guys - posting this quickly - will be back!
I was in a supermarket today and saw some info regarding the Farepak Fiasco. Sorry for making this my first post back (missed you).
I saw the chairman enjoying his holiday in Argentina last night on TV and I saw an 8 year old boy dissolve into tears this mornning at the thought of no Christmas.
These people tried to spread the cost of Christmas over a year and will probably end up with around 4p for every £1 invested. This is a DFW principle and while we are all in need of help, these people tried to help themselves and nearly a million people are estimated to have been affected. I hope that's why I'll be forgiven for posting this suggestion here.
I'm in no way connected with Farepak or a victim - I just think word of mouth can work miracles.
So with your permission, the address for the Farepak Responce Fund is:
www.farepakresponsefund.org.uk.
If you want to help, go to the website, and check out the options.
I have next to nothing but it breaks my heart to think of all these families sitting there watching all the TV adverts for "The Best Christmas Ever" when they've even had the food taken from them.
Sorry if someone else has posted this:o Look after each other
Much Love,
Tiff xxx

I have had enough!
I am tired. Tired by lousy teenagers, not sleeping well and when I do make an effort being treated like an old dishrag by my husband.
I tell him I am upset, then he says he doesn't want to spend our 25th Anniversary with me. Why does he have to be nasty when trying to sort out something. He attacks more, rather than listen and learn.
It has been like this since I can remember. He doesn't care about me or our relationship, so I am going to leave him when the house is sold.
I am sick of lovely events etc being spoilt by his selfishness and nastiness. I reckon 80% of my depression is caused by him. I have to watch how I feel all the time in case he upsets me - it is wrong and I am not taking it anymore. Our 25th isn't a celebration - it is an indication of how much life I have wasted and suffered, much like a prison sentence.
The other 20% is a knock on effect from feeling low by his bad treatment towards me and other people not being very understanding towards me when I am on the floor.
I don't feel sad but would appreciate support when I need it during my down times during this traumatic time.An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

That's what 'R' says too
I'm really not used to people saying nice things to me and don't understand it when they do. I just find it hard to see any good in myselfYou sound to be a lovely person which is appreciated by us here
It does take time to build the library up but it takes most of the pain out of doing the formatting (I used to write papers for publication so I had to make sure the format was correct for the particular journal.)
Tired today - car flew through service and MOT, which is a relief. Glad I didn't take it to a dealership as I'm sure they would have found lots which they would say it needed. Got it done at a local tyre / exhaust/ MOT place - saved £80 on dealership and they stamped the service book tooGood, cars can be such a pain
Spent the day in town - getting a few things I needed and to start to get ideas for Xmas shopping. Spent too much money and had loads of bags to carry around town.I hope you enjoyed it
Everyone, enjoy your weekend, thinking of you all.

flis21 wrote:Thanks for that Nemo, it is always good to hear what has worked for other people, but we must also remember that the same things do not work for the same people. In the same way most of us have to try many different medications before we find one that works just for us. Depression is a very personal condition and is different in every person who suffers from it, in the same way what will help them out of depression is different.
Also as depressing as it sounds, I don't believe (well not in my case anyway) that depression is something you get once, then recover from. It is an ongoing condition that has to be managed so you can live your life as normally as possible. (Ok, my counsellor tells me off for using the word normal, but it seemed to fit here!).
This thread has grown so, as depression and mental illness are taboo subjects and it is very difficult to talk about them in the 'real' world without people judging you and treating you differently because of it. Here is the one place most of us can be totally ourselves and know that we are talking to people who can empathise with where we are coming from.
I really appreciate this board. There are some lovely understanding and non-judgemental people here. I got really flamed on another forum which upset me but you are all angels. I wish I had some wise helpful words to dispense though. An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

If any of you have time tomorrow morning to send me some virtual hugs, I'd really appreciate it. I know it's not a big deal really, loads of people have done it, but it's taken everything to get me to this point. Good night everyone. I think certainly the effects of ME and depression are very similar but I thought ME was believed to be a post viral thing?
Thats what I said to my GP/shrink/therapist and anyone else paid to listen to me but hey what do I know?(just someone who was in the gutter of life looking down into a deep dark hole) Not no more the Reiki has given me the power to heal myself and it feels like Santa has delivered 10,000 Playstation 3's to me,normaly last on his list.:j0 -

Bless your heart, CCStar, and thanks. Well, I got through it is about the best I can say. It was really, really hard, having to talk about myself. Just not something I know how to do. Felt totally drained afterwards. Anyway, they'll let me know in 3-4 weeks what their recommendations are. Don't know how I feel about it all... a bit numb?Love, Saz xxx
