  • Hi all,

Its been happening for a few days now. The windsreen washing liquid gets frozen while the car is parked overnight and it takes at least half an hour for washing liquid to come out after I start driving the car.

I use ready to use, washing liquid (blue one, normally the cheapest brand) available on any superstore. I dilute the liquid a bit becasue otherwise it doesnt clean up the screen and gets clogged all over the screen.

Can somebody please advise me how to cope with it

    Regards

I've been using Windscreen Stayclean from Permaclear which you dilute and put in the washer bottle. It seems to be doing quite a good job as i haven't had a problem with it freezing. I do use a higher concentrate in winter though, especially with all the snow!

Another thought, when did you last renew the wiper blades?, though more expensive, Bosch ones pay for themselves

warm up the car, go for a drive, heat from engine should start to thaw it.
then empty washer and fill with neat screen wash.

If the bottle is visible pour hot water over it or use a hairdryer. If, as in many cars, it is hidden in the wing it is very difficult to do anything but possibly pour hot water in it if there is space and syphon out again and keep on doing same.
