Buy local - is it worth saving a couple of quid to be herded like sheep to the checkout ?
Add travel time, your own time, petrol / running costs , and small money savings - Is this really money savings ... ?
Or is it just Hype.. ?qui tacet consentire -

Been to this one and not overly impressed.... its not any better than St Rollox which is my usual one.
Is the 'Silverburn' name to attract people who dont want to shop in Pollok? lol0 -

Not sure where silver came from but it sits near the BrockBurn therefore Burn. Not buying unnecessary toiletries 2024 26/53 UU, 25 IN0 -
Apparently the name comes from the development’s location in Pollok, an old Scots word for pond, and the burn (Brockburn) which borders the site.No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.0

I visited during the second week of opening and still found some great bargains, including a zipper knitwear for my boyfriend (who has a button phobia  ) reduced from £15 to £3 !!! Absolute bargain!
It was still quite busy - especially in the car park, which I thought was a bit tight for the size of the store, but once the multi-storey opens it might relieve it slightly.
I'm going back again on Saturday to do my big shop and use up my bonus Clubcard points before they go out of date - including my Healthy Living Club Voucher which gives me double points on my shopping - well worth joining. I've just signed up for Clubcard Plus so I can maximise my points as well. Although I do the majority of my shopping in Tesco, it doesn't detract me from picking up the best bargains and offers in Morrisons/Somerfield, etc. Overall, I haven't found Asda any cheaper and also think the quality isn't as good as Tesco.
Anyway, I thought the store was great - apart from the disappointing Cafe (v little hot food on offer) - but then I suppose they were possibly overwhelmed by the popularity of the store. The non-food section is massive and the aisles are nice and wide. Looking forward to returning... :j0 -
:T It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice. :T
