scammed on ebay by vinney2787

Seller listed what I thought was an iphone under the mobile phone category, I along with 18 others purchased the "phones", on closer inspection of the add a small section shows "*this is a photo only* ".
I put in a paypal claim straight away but I dont think I'm going to get anything out of it, as it wa my mistake. Recorded delivery arrived today with envelope containing only the photograph on an iphone.

Ebay stepping in?
Here's a photo of an iPhone for free!0 -
i know the add was misleading but isnt this another case of people just seeing what they want to see rather than whats actually in front of them??Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0

I know what you are saying pitkin but the item was purposly placed in the wrong category to deceive and priced at an cheap but not too cheap price for the product ebay states.
Listings must not misrepresent items
Except as noted in the specific policy as exceptions, sellers cannot:
*
List items in inappropriate categories
*
Misrepresent the item location from which their item will be posted
*
Include brand names or other inappropriate keywords in a title or description. On eBay this is known as keyword spamming)
*
Use misleading titles that do not accurately describe the item for sale0 -
im not saying it wasn't misleading clearly if it was in the phone section and was actually just a pic you were buying it was more than misleading.
What i am saying is though these types of ads play on peoples minds because they see a product they want at a price they really want to pay so they tend to skip over all the text and only actually see the bits they wantEveryones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
