Well another long period of absence from the diary...but there are good reasons!

So I had better update with the happenings in the world of Shoes.

I am now single (mentioned briefly in a previous post, just before xmas) and have really enjoyed my own space. Enough compromises, sacrifices and lip-biting-unhappiness, now time for happiness! This has meant more socialising and that of course means spends!

I am now a homeowner and I've taken on more work with my 2nd job to try and make sure I have no drop in the luxuries that make me happy because I have this huge financial commitment.

    So, the truth. Debts:

    OD- £2000
    Credit Card- £929.98
    Catalogue- £423.63
    Storecard- £1000

So debts are......£4353.61 These need to be gone by Christmas.

I also want 2 holidays this year, car needs some maintenance, some bits for house and as I'm aiming to lose weight, a clothing allowance is needed.

So....targets to tackle debt/weight/allow me to achieve my goals:

    1) WEIGHT: Get back into calorie counting, meal planning, exercising, portion reduction, 2 litres water and supplements

    2) DEBT: Start PAD, keep using £co, get back into ebaying items, check all utilities/insurances are in place/done via cashback/are on best deal

    3) EARNINGS: Aim for £50 a day on 2nd job and £50 a day on 3rd job (both working from home so can fit around my career). Take any extra work available. Even if I don't meet my daily target, if I'm doing a little of each job daily it will soon stack up.

    4) HOME: do a little job on the house each day, even if that's housework, tidying, decluttering, cleaning, decorating, accessorising etc. Slowly chip away at the list.

    5) EFFORT: make more of an effort with my hair and makeup, accessories and clothes. I love doing it but when I'm tired/late/in a rush/lacking energy, it's the first thing to go and has the biggest impact on my mood. Silly Shoes. Will try harder.

    Purse: £12.89
    Bank: £90.00
    CCard: £162.46
    Vouchers: £11 Mr T vouchers

16 days til payday. This is my main payday, not payday from 2nd/3rd jobs or freelancing. This will come in with less regularity so I won't know more than a few days in advance, whereas my main payday is set each month.

Owed £16 by a friend too.

    More to come.

All cleaning products stocked up on. Cost £13.97 and used £11 voucher so £2.97 spend. Then got price promise voucher for £2.52 so can use that for milk and bread at end of week.

    Got:
    £6.74 cash in purse
    £2.52 voucher
£63.17 in bank although a couple of transactions to clear out
    £162.46 on credit card
    15 days til payday

Had dinner at friend's house. Need to cook meat for lunches over next couple of days. Got some chores for tonight:

    washing up
    10 minute tidy up
£40 to earn on job 3
    big admin job
    update budgets

Tired Shoes. Where is the sun? Mornings are so much easier when can can bask in the sun before dragging yourself out of bed. It's unbelievably grey and depressing.

Today's agenda. Lots of little chores around the house- bins out, wipe down, sort a few papers, a little bit of washing up and some tidying. Water plants too.

Car is filthy- used by local birds as a toilet target. Need to at least clean windscreens and windows, if not head to the car wash.

12 days til payday. £40 in bank, £135.93 on CC and £7.74 in purse. Also have £2.52 voucher for Mr T and £16 owed by a friend. Will need milk, bread and cheese from Mr T, then some snacky stuff when friends are over next week.

Have made 3 £1 PAD to storecard.

Going slowly on earning extra income- there aren't enough hours in the day. Managing around £20 a day Mon-Fri. Need to be realistic. Will try to do that on weekends too. Last week of the month I can top up with extra as have booked myself time to do that.

    Ok...I'm up...and raring to go.

    Have a great day.

Wow, over 3 months and no posts from me. Diabolical. Rest assured I have been here in spirit- lurking, following other diaries and threads. Just not updating my own!

I find myself in the tightest financial position I've been in recently (although it is all over luxuries not necessities) and find that the thing that's missing is the old MissShoes, scrimping and saving and finding pennies somewhere. Reading a couple of threads about the really dire situations some people are finding themselves in financially through no fault of their own has spurred me on to:

    - get back on the MSE wagon
    - start valuing every penny
    - reduce my outgoings
    - increase my incomings
    - relish in MSE and DFW the way I used to
    - be thankful for all I have- it almost feels hypocritical posting here still as my debts are small and I have many areas I could compromise to reduce spending
    - POST EVERY DAY
    - PAD- remember to do this EVERY DAY

    Savings Made

Reduced Sky by £20 a month for 9 months, out of contract so can cancel when offer expires (currently £31.50 for phone, broadband and tv)

Reduced another outgoing from £120-£60 a month

    Cancelled L0vefilm, saving £9.99 a month

    Cancelled exper1an, saving £6.99 a month

    Not so saving

    Still have creditexper1 at £14.99 a month

Looking to restart gym at £48 a month (I miss it and I need it)

Will post a SOA just to get myself restarted and focus on the debts- which have not been a priority for a few months- too focused on socialising, holiday, friends, parties, shopping..........so all payments are made but overpaying has not been a priority. I don't want them creeping up to create a debt mountain!

    Bill 1- £2000

    Bill 2- £2500

Bill 2 must be paid by Xmas, bill 1 can be flexible. This is what has taken priority over debts so must be tackled.

    SOA to follow...
