So payday has been and gone. It's now 28days til the next one- wishing my life away much?!

The last council tax payment has come out and I've cancelled the standing order to stop any 'accidental' additional payments being taken.

So the gory details in black and white. Leftover from my wages:

    In the bank: £290.00
    Savings: £23.95
    Cash in purse: £33.10

    = £347.05

Still to be paid out of this:

    £20.22- pet insurance policies
    £14.99- creditexpert
    £13.41- ebay fees
    £33.00- beauty treatment
    £40.00- hair appointment
    £50.00- food

    = £171.62

    Which leaves me with:

    = £175.43

This has to cover posting ebay sales, petrol, cleaner, going out and my Ikea card payment once statement is received.

Things look very tight this month due to huge outgoings. By March payday I'll be back on track although overpaying debt should happen from Feb. Only doing minimums is frustrating but necessary unfortunately.

So £200 for 2 people for 1 month.

We've both put £50 cash into the grocery purse to cover the first 2 weeks. We'll do the same again at the mid-month point.

We did our first shop today which came to £76.20 so over our weekly £50 limit.

Things we bought which are 'one-offs'- we won't need them next week:

    peanut butter
    chocolate spread
    food bags
    baked beansx4
    TOTM products
    2 x microrice
    Frozen chicken
Frozen prawns- didn't realise these were £4.75:mad::eek:
    Pizza x 3

We have £23.80 for next week's shopping although we have a £5 off a £40 shopping trip for Mr T so I'm going to find an extra £12 to be able to use this, either from the socialising money or the second half of the budget.

So the cupboards, freezer, fridge are all heaving. In no particular order, our ingredients that make complete meals that we can have are:

chicken, chorizo, butter bean and tomato stew with cous cous
    tandoori chicken, rice and salad
    pizza and chips
    salmon, cous cous and salad
red thai curry with coconut rice
stirfry noodles with chicken or prawns
prawn and crab curry with chilli, ginger and garlic with rice or noodles
    spaghetti and meatballs
    cottage pie and veg
    steamed fish with veg
    chicken and mushroom pasta
roasted chicken with all the trimmings
    spaghetti carbonara
Beef burgers with buns, cheese, salad and chips
    Crab cakes with noodles
stirfry rice with chicken or prawns

Lots of fish and chicken! Might get some sausages or lamb steaks in next weeks' shop. I'll see what's reduced.

Breakfasts are cereal or toast. Lunches for me are chicken or salmon salad with a bread roll. OH will be at home so can have beans on toast, a sandwich or omelette etc.

So next week I will need:

    milk
    cheese
    salad
    veg
    fruit
    cat litter
    cat food

OMG just had my car insurance quote for OH and I on both our cars- £162 per month for him and me on both our cars.

!!!!!!. It'll get worse once he has a full licence too, going up to £250 a month. Nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really really really want OH to find work soon. I've done our budget for the year and if he doesn't get something, my DFD will not be July. There's a chance it might not even be in 2012. I'm so disappointed!

Staying positive, I will find a way.

NSD for me. OH picked up some bits for my lunches from Mr T out of the grocery budget.

Still got to check out car insurance options

Ive got extras to find money for plus OH found out he didn't get the job so there is nothing in the pipeline. He doesn't have any other interviews lined up. Fingers crossed something comes up. He has £150 to survive on this month. He has £50 to pay towards food so he has £100 left to spend as he chooses.

Next month he also has £150 but this minus his food and phone leaves him with around £10! His phone has been sent off to MFYP but that's about it. From end of Feb to end of March he needs to be a superscrimper!

Really sorry to hear about the job... now this may be a silly idea but can you get him into comping or something between job searches as he likes his computer time and you never know he might win something! It could also be a motivator.

And more importantly, can he claim JSA or anything?

Car insurance is horrendous, I hope you find something better.
