damn these men!
Hey Paula,
something weird is happening with my OH- he has done the washing up without being asked 3 days in a row and I got flowers on Tuesday!!!
Baby steps- I know it won't last but I'll enjoy it while it does. Trying to focus on the positives instead of the negatives.
Seen your signature- we'll be finishing around the same time! Do you have a diary I can subscribe to?- DFD 4th July 2015

I miss a few days and look how much has gone on! That's great news about Vanquish - must have been such a good feeling!
And well done on making it to pay day within budget! :T:T:T
Our shopping habits have had a spanner thrown in the works this week, or more accurately a cupboard, as that's what fell on the cooker and put it beyond use! We're still waiting to hear from the insurance but I only got all the bits of the claim together a couple of days ago so it's early days really. We quickly got tired of microwave ready meals / soup / baked potatoes! At least they are fairly cheap so we still have plenty of food money.
Have you got you humungous shop yet? Wish we had an Aldi near us, they have some nice stuff.
I will check back later to see what's the news on the car.
P.S. Did you get the hairclips?!
Yes I got the humongous shop- the cupboards, fridge and freezer are all bulging and I can cook lots and lots of meals.
Yes the first hair clips have arrived- I got 4 types. Love it!- DFD 4th July 2015

So the dilemma is, do I pay dorothy perkins off in full? According to my sums I can afford it if I don't buy anything else this month. Plus I'll have £500 sitting in savings so if an emergency crops up I should be able survive.
The reason I'm umming and ahhhing is because the payments are due by the 4th. So the payment needs to be sent asap to ensure they clear and the account can be closed/settled.
That means leaving myself with 28 days to survive with
£27.50 in cash
£50 for groceries
£50 for fuel
and £500 in savings which I really don't want to touch.
I just need to bite the bullet, believe I can do it and take each day at a time.
Deep breaths (all encouraging words welcome)
Had a read and you are doing great
About DP if you are paying intrest every month and you have savings that you can fall back on i would pay it off this month and way you are going i dont think you will need to use savings but you have them just incase you need a few quid.If you dont like me remember its mind over matter, I dont mind and you dont matter0 -

Thanks for posting. The savings are towards a new car, which must be paid in full at the end of January so I can fall back on them but then need to be able to claw it back from Nov/Dec/Jan budget. OH is buying my car from me so it's a win win as my new car is from a friend, 3 years old and all I have to pay is their final loan payment.
If i wasn't getting the car, I'd be CC debt free earlier by a couple of months but this offer won't come round again.
But you're right, I think I'm convincing myself tonight that first thing tomorrow I'm going to call and make the final payment.- DFD 4th July 2015

Money well spent on the car - after all the DP card won't get you anywhere in an emergency.
I think I'm with ged about paying the card off if you have interest payable. It's saving money in the longer term and besides it's the feeling of acheivement when it's done.
Yay to positives list (I have something similar), humongous food shops and hairclips! It all sounds like fun!

Thanks Miggy, I hope you're not too sick of your microwave food and that nothing else is falling off any walls.
Ok, it's decided.
Tomorrow I clear another debt in full and close the account.- DFD 4th July 2015

Debts in my name:
LPF visa £200
Ikea card £400
Barclaycard £500
Next £774 (defaulted, no CCA, my last priority)
Overdraft £2000 (to be paid after the cards are gone)
Debts not in my name:
Friend £2500 (to be paid once the above is clear, although I may do this as the same time as my OD so I can see both amounts reducing)
Challenge is to survive this month, then before Christmas pay off and close LPF visa and on February payday pay off Ikea and Barclaycard and some to friend and close both accounts. March- pay off Next in full, some to friend and a chunk towards my overdraft. April- some to overdraft and friend. May- pay off overdraft and pay off friend- DEBT FREE.
So June payday should be mine. Mwah ha ha (evil laugh)- DFD 4th July 2015
