Hi Mummy - good to hear from you. We have been doing ok but our work hours have been cut and we are just about making minimum payments on everything so dont feel we are really getting anywhere. I think we will be one of the families who are really going to struggle next year. I hate being skint! Also DH wont be getting any overtime this month now - the job has been cancelled so wont be able to clear the overdrafts - so feeling really flaming fed up now:(
Will have an early night and try and be more positive tomorrow!

Feeling a bit better today - by its a rollercoaster isnt it!! I will be so pleased when credit cards paid and we will be £100 better off per month!!!
After that I have a loan to tackle which paid for central heating although it is debt - it was done for good reason and I couldnt be without the heating now - but still want it paid off lol.
Tonight me and DH are going to sit down and look at our plans and budgets for next year. Think he has seen how stressed I am and wants to help - which is good.
Having a lovely quiet day today, lego out tv on and nowhere to be which is fab - have a great weekend all x

hi pinky,
there is a new(ish) thread running on the os board, "its going to be tough for 6 years", or something like that. Lots of people are posting about how they are worried about next year, and if things are going to get worse financially. You might get some good advice and support there.
Financially my oh and I arent too badly off, almost no debt, but I worry about my family, and try to help out where I can. Personally I think the economy will get much worse, before things improve.
Hope I am wrong.

Thanks all - Beanielou - it was £5500 but the boiler is a Bosch one and it is good - I really couldnt be without the central heating now we have the kids - so I do feel its worth it (also I hate being cold lol:D)x
Katie - Yep found that thread and will be reading with interest thanks - 6 years though eek eek:eek:
Mummy - def feeling better - I stay positive most of the time and appreciate what I have - I am a born worrier - but having said that coming on here and tackling my debt has been the best thing ever.
I went on entitled to last night and if money stays the same then we should be owed some tax credits back of around £300 or so I reckon. The if no overtime our tax credits should go up £15 weekly which would also help. Also last night instead of having main meals we shared a platter and instead of spending £30 which we thought we would we managed at £19 so I was pleased with that.
I am going to recheck the bank accounts later and update my sums.
Today though we are just having a quiet NS day - have a few pressies to deliver and cards to post and will be using up things in the cupboards and fridge and prob play with the lego again lol x

Evening all!!
Well had a manic morning today, washing done, whole house hoovered, 2 beds changed, downstairs tidy. Took the kids to play den for a run around and 2 fell asleep on way home so had an hours peace and quiet:D.
Had a really quiet pm we snuggled up on the sofa and watched dvds and DH came home early and joined us which was lovely.
We put the kids to bed and me and DH have sat and gone through expenditure for next year. We have set the budget from start of feb due to already being in the overdraft and having a large oil bill also - but hoping DH overtime will pay this. So we have done the SOA which this time accounts for fuel (should have visited the preparing for winter thread months ago lol). If DH gets his usual hours then the extra will go to savings for now anything additional to this will go to credit card overpayments.
Also we need to consider our house & car insurance which is due march time so will be looking for some good deals on quidco - fingers crossed.
Finally have been looking at entitled to and have worked out we should if I am correct be due some money back april time as I underestimated out earning due to reduced hours I reckon they may owe us about £500 - heres hoping but wont be counting on it lol. If we do get anything we have agreed to pay it straigh off the credit card. It will be fab when they are paid off and will free up an extra £100 per month. Am feeling quite motivated at the moment and really hope we can get rid of the credit cards before summer - heres hoping anyway. Hope everyone is well and havent got too much snow:D xx
