Evening all - hope everyone had a relaxig sunday! Ours started off well, lunch at aunties - kids were good. But after an hour of tearing round the house - lots of mess - I was feeling really fed up. Also my cousin phoned to say they have put an offer in (cash) on a lovely house near us which I would have loved (although) we couldnt afford it. This will be her third gorgoeus house in a few years and they always seem to have loads of money - am just feeling a bit jealous as we never have any money and prob will never be able to move. Sorry not a very postive post today.:(
On the other hand is has been a NS day and yesterday I managed to order most of my xmas shopping to be delivered- so will try and get it wrapped and hidden this week. Have done a meal planner for the week so am hoping to stick too it.

If it's any consolation I get terribly envious of people buying houses full stop! One thing I've *always* wanted - admittedly not very ambitious but one thing I have had on list of 'things to do in my life' is to own my own house. I know how it feels when it seems other people seem to have loads more money to do things like that.

Focussing on your (very) positive things, you are v. organised to have so much Christmas shopping done! I've been thinking about it but not got anything yet. Apparently OH doesn't want anything - yes said I, and will you be saying that when it's Christmas morning and you have nothing from me?!

Menu planning - mental note - me not done this for a while!

Thanks Jo - have picked my face up now lol. DH always says he doesnt want anything for xmas so I didnt get him anything then he moaned! So this year have got him a few bits so hopefully there wont be any moaning! I am going to make a xmas card list when I am off on wednesday and get that started as this is a job I really detest.
I also need to look at my SOA for december - as I am slightly in the overdraft with a few unexpected bills boo hoo and my guttering needs fixing. Having said that if I am really careful I may be able to reduce the overdraft slightly with money from the other account - fingers crossed.
I have only a few xmas bits to get which will have to wait till after pay day for now.
I have done loads today and have a chicken casserole in the slow cooker so going to have a quick cuppa before I wake little one up from her nap - hope she is in a better mood!:)

Had a NS day today - have decided I am going to count these through Dec and see how many I can manage.
Bad news last week my hours have been cut again meaning we are losing £250 per month eek ekk. So now it is going to be a struggle to pay all basic bills nevermind anything else. Am trying to stay postive but really feel like crying.
Luckily most of Xmas shopping is done and paid for with vouchers but the big pressie for DS was for £200 and put on CCard which I had the money in next pay to pay - which of course now I wont eek. So have phoned around and asked for any extra work - my main aim now it too try and make £200 to try and pay off what went on the credit card.
Will have a look at ebay and see if there is anything selling and whether it is worth listing anything - so trying to stay on track but feeling a bit crappy to be honest!x

  • Sorry to hear about your hours being cut, pinky. There are a lot of people going to be in the same boat, but its awful just before christmas. Could you ask family to club in for kids pressies? I know I am always happy to give dd money towards christmas presents, because I never know what to get kids.

Yep Katie am hoping family will give the kids money or vouchers as I buy bits in the sale like Jean which are cheaper than buying them through the year.
Going to really try hard on the food planning side as my kids are sooooo fussy at the moment and I am so sick of them snacking and wanting rubbish. Prob is they all like diff things which means I end up cooking 2 diff meals in 2 diff sittings depending on what people ate doing - I hate cooking and get really sick.
Not much else happening on the money front.
Have got a bit behind on the house-work as I cant seem to motivate myself to do anything when I feel sooooo cold!
Am hoping the reports of snow are incorrect - barrrr humbug:D

Well a NSD today - yey! Got a load of shopping in on saturday just in case weather changed - havent been paid so put it on credit card but as soon as pay goes in I will tranfer the money straight over. After main bills are paid I have worked out we have £250 left to buy last few xmas bits and top up milk and fruit through the month - am hoping we can do this without hitting overdraft. Have also managed to pay an extra £80 into the savings this month just to help with short fall of wages the next few months. Am really hoping we can get through this without adding to the credit card. My minimum payment on credit card now stands at £63 last year it ws £120!! So at least that is coming down. Will stick to the £65 per month at the mo as the card is 0% - it is soo good to see total coming down even thought we are not paying over the minimums.
We have also decided as soon as our pay goes in xmas eve we are going to transfer to savings until jan 1st and then transfer back so we are not tempted to spend the money - am hoping this will work!
