I would say the spending diary too & I also have a 5 year diary with the date I'm aiming to become debt free by marked in & I write down everything I've done each day which is helping me get there. Its motivating too as I can see the days reducing in the diary. I would do a diary on here but it would send you all to sleep! :p

Another tip is to cook in bulk & freeze for days when you are too busy/tired/ill to cook. It doesn't take much longer to prepare the extra ingredients & saves on electric/gas too :)

Great idea, we have a 5 year diary about the place somewhere and never thought I'd have a use for it, thankfully I'll only need it for 2 years 1 month. I guess I could turn it into my mortgage free wannabe diary after that!

    Keep a spending diary.

Don't buy anything unless it is absolutely vital. Every penny helps.

Have a goal and keep it in your mind at all times.

If you feel tempted to be naughty, give yourself a good talking-to and remind yourself of your goal and imagine how exquisite it will be when you get there. At times it may seem that you will never get there, but you will, you will.:grouphug:
