McDonalds TV ad

Has anyone seen the new McDonalds ad? The one that says "A pound, also known as a bob, a quid and a squid." Excuse me, but when the hell was a pound EVER known as a bob? A shilling, or 5 new pence to you youngsters was a bob. Does anyone know who the morons behind the ad are?

haha I always get laughed at by my wife for calling 50p '10 bob'. Maybe Maccie D's should change it to 20 bob :D

Many people I know call £1 "one bob" but these are all young people who have never experienced the old types of money. Many people I know also wouldn't go posting about it on a web forum that a McD's ad has called £1 a bob.
  • My Dad's been getting angry about this for days (:

You've gone to the time and effort to answer it. It doesn't answer the meaning of life but so what?
