Tramadol ... anyone use it ?

The doctor wasn't pleased with what I had done, but I wonder how long she would have let me go on while denying it was the tramadol doing it ...
!
I would not be very pleased with that doctor and I would have told him/her so.
The side affects of tramadol are well known and detailed in the leaflet contained in the packet."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Good morning tr82, I hope you're feeling a bit better this morning.
I couldn't keep Tramadol down for long enough to do anything, BUT it transpired that it doesn't play nicely with Moclobemide, which is my current anti-depressant.
Do go back to your GP, because that sounds like a rather awful reaction you've had.
For the record, I'm now on Morphine, and have *crosses fingers* no problems with this; indeed, one of the side-effects has actually benefitted me!If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
At various times and for various reasons, I've been prescribed paracetamol, ibuprofen, tramadol, co-dydramol, co-codamol, dihydrocodeine, transdermal buprenorphine, codeine phosphate, oral and IV morphine, pregabalin, gabapentin, amitriptyline, nortriptyline, temazepam, zopiclone, naratriptan... Most of them have either stopped working by now or have negative side-effects to the point where I just can't take them.
Kaya, codeine is not so inefficient as you think in general - it just doesn't affect some people, and that is all. It's generally pretty efficient, so you must have been unlucky with it.
Kompess, I was also on venlafaxine for a while, but quit taking it when I put my father in the hospital when I missed just one dose. SSRIs and NARIs do not work well for me. Itchy skin as you have mentioned is a very common side-effect of Tramadol and anything else morphine- or codeine-based.
Jazabelle - gabapentin so far has less side-effects than pregabalin, but it isn't doing much for me yet. Still tapering up, though.Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -
I won't remove the thread but I will close it as I don't think it quite fits with the MSE policy on medical advice:
