Planning another 5 days this week too.
Bought sandwich ingredients and snacks so no excuse for me!
Day one- Bagel and jam for brekkie, cheese and ham sandwiches, a pack of crisps, yohurt and apple.

Actually, once you get used to sandwiches, they aren't too bad!

  • This is my first ever post, but can I join in too please?

I'm a Brit currently living in Melbourne Australia, so we are having the opposite problem to you and suffering a heatwave at the moment. It's 10.30 at night and still well over 30 degrees!!

However despite the heat today was my first day back at work and thanks to this thread I actually went ahead and made my lunch the night before. It was a wholemeal tortilla wrap with avocado, a little bit of Hellman's mayo - if you go to the right supermarket you can find it here, and I'm prepared to do the leg work to track it down! - a couple of slices of ham, a couple of cheese slices, some cucumber and some mixed salad. I put it in the sandwich toaster at work and it was very yummy. It always makes me wonder why I bother buying lunch when I could make such yummy ones myself and they're so much cheaper! But I know it's because I'm just disorganised and don't do enough planning, which has got to stop in 2010. I even brought in some honey almond Special K (which is divine!!) and some cream cheese portions with mango and peach in to keep me going.

I only work 4 days a week so my aim is to bring my own lunch and snacks each day I'm at work, and only spend a maximum of $10 per week on 'miscellaneous' other items such as snacks, or coffees with friends at lunchtime. I know I can still socialise I just don't have to buy a whole lunch to do it!
