2/5 for me today.
This is getting easy and i'm enjoying that sandwiches take only a few seconds to throw together the night before.
Have realised I might not do it on Friday as I'm out of the office for work and staying in a hotel Thursday night- but I hope to be taken out for lunch on Fridaybut if not I'll be buying lunch but claiming it back from work anyway- does that count???/!
Debt free as of 2 October 2009
Mortgage free as of 27 March 20240 -
Just a quick update - Last week I was within my £3 budget (can't remember exactly) and brought food in each day for lunch. I did have breakfast here twice though but it was soooo cold and I fancied something hot!
This week I brought leftover curry from Sunday night for lunch but again had no breakfast so bought a cheese cob £1.30, boo.
Today I brought in porridge for breakfast (half price Oat so Simple at the Co-Op)- yummy. I just had to buy the milk to put in it but really that was a contribution towards the office supplies too so I am not counting that. Lunch was left over pasta from Monday tea'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain'0 -
It's 7/7 for me so far.
I love this challenge as it's really forced me to be prepared and sort something out for lunch whereas previously I'd just think "I'll buy something at work" when there was nothing to hand. Hopefully I'll save loads of money.
Jacket potato and chilli for me again today (chilli was from last week which I froze). Making Macaroni Cheese tonight so will make loads and have that for lunch over the next couple of days.0 -
Soup again for me today! 2 days in a row is too much already so got to make sure I sort something else out tonight to mix it up a bit! I'm thinking a tuna mayo filling for a jacket spud & maybe a little salad to go with it2019 will be my year!!0

So far so good for me - my challenge was not to buy lunch more than once per week. Well last week I didn't buy lunch at all, took it with me every day I was at work, and so far this week I'm 2/2. Actually this isn't proving to be too hard
Josephine - I think if work re-imburse you or treat you to lunch then that doesn't count!A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

- I don't go into town on my lunch break and buy toiletries and other things I 'need'

- I'm working shorter lunches and building up flexi-time.
Perfect all round really! Woo!
Exactly same for me too! It's a revelation - can't believe how much I'm saving, both in terms of money and calories :T
Only downside is that I'm not spending so I'm not getting £2 coins in my change for one of my other challenges!
Lunch paid for by work for me today, so another cheap/free lunch day - yay!£2 savers challenge:dance:£152/£200:naughty:Still trying to pay off my CC£3,800/£4,343 paid off0 -
Forgot to say too that this year is the first time I have signed up for any of the MSE challenges, and I can't believe the difference it's making. It's really focussing my mind and I feel very chuffed each time I update my signature.
So, a huge thanks to all the lovely MSEs out there who set up these challenge threads for us all. Thank you from the bottom of my purse!£2 savers challenge:dance:£152/£200:naughty:Still trying to pay off my CC£3,800/£4,343 paid off0
