I'm in. Going for only buying lunch 1 day out of 5. I find if I don't give myself 1 day, I'll do OK for a week or two and then go back to buying every day.

2/2 for me Chicken and salad wraps and yoghurt today, I wish I'd taken soup again but didn't want to waste leftovers from last nights tea.
  • Hey 4/4 so far, which means that I can potentially go out for lunch tomorrow....however, going to be good and cos working from home, am going to have lunch in. That makes 5 days for me, I've exceeded my challenge!!! (If I make it tomorrow)

Woo! 4 out of 5 for me - that was my target for this week. I'm now contemplating not buying lunch tomorrow as well - I've had 2 NSD this week which I'm sure isn't a coincidence and it's getting addictive looking at what money I've saved :o.

I know, I know, I need to get out more! :rotfl:

So almost the end of the week and going well so far. I guess tomorrow is going to be the toughest as most of the team go for a pub lunch on Fridays. Sometimes find myself doing something else just so I don't feel like I have to go and spend £7/£8. "Just need to pop to Boots so get you back at the office" etc. Must not go window shopping and spend more than I would on a pub lunch!!

How does everyone else deal with turning down pub lunches???
  • I've done this for years !
It's easy - just take cheese sandwiches.
If you want a drink - have tap water.
Alternate - some days take cucumber sandwiches.
Ring the changes - some days have Cheese AND Cucumber sandwiches !
You can probably add a piece of fruit or two and still come in at under a £1

Have a big steaming bowl of porridge before you go to work, and a proper meal when you get home - you won't really need lunch - but it's better to eat 3 regular meals a day.
    Gus.
