Everyone advised me to miss my evening class tonight because they said i would have difficulty getting home, so missed it but as didnt see a drop of snow all night thought i just wasted a perfect evening, had a look now and its completely covered, so they were all right!!
Is it impossible for you to get in or just difficult? im thinking if im able to make my way into work tomorrow, when this happened last year i dragged myself in by walking 20-25 mins to the nearest tube station but when i got to work it was dead and they ended up sending us all home anyway. Plus worried i can get into work and then end up stranded there because its far to get into work and wont be able to walk back0 -

The newspapers have quoted 18-40 inches of snow if that believeable  I will wait and see what happens in the morning. It was snowing at half 9 but now all the roads are completely covered. So it has come on quick and strong so far.
Ps sorry im hogging the thread of snow talk.0 -

I've made another tuna sarnie on homemade bread for tomorrow, but the amount of snow we've got, i could be eating it at home!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

i shouldn't actually face that many problems getting to school if truth be told but our feeder area is huge and 90% or more of our pupils are bussed in, many from mountainous and/or rural areas. as it's a split site school staff have to drive from a-b during the day whatever the weather. the site was already pretty slippery today and very poorly heated so hopefuly health and safety will win the day. i think going in to be sent home is worse in some ways than having to go in for the full dayso send snow vibes to south wales please
back on topic, i've just checked and there's a heinz lunch pot in the cupboard i can take (beef stew whereas today's was lamb casserole), so if i do go in I'll take that and a bagel.

Probably going to try out my new hiking boots I got for christmas and slug into the office tomorrow. I imagine it'll be a late in early out situation though.Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000

Can I join too - normally a comper but this thread caught my eye. Have had nice fresh soup from the bargain bin (99p) half yesterday and half today with reduced wholemeal rolls out of the freezer. Got bolognese left overs and a bargain bin pitta tomorrow. All less than £1.10. Even my favourite baguette shop doing a reduce 'meal deal' down to £2.99 isn't going to stop me!!
As for snow I have never seen anything like it in my nearly 30 years on this earth - it's over half way up my boots!:jSince starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.0 -
elenor - happy to add you, do you have a specific challenge in mind? Under £1.10 a day maybe?
Ahh well at the expense of seeming old and foreign, I'm recalling my days as a lass in New Jersey in the late 90s (so not that old really) shoveling snow that would form drifts 6 feet tall! And somehow public transport was running and streets were clear in the morning, I imagine if this weather is the way of the future London will have to start investing in some heavy equipment!
