Good excuse to do some shopping ifonlyitwaseasier!! lol but after paying to renew my passport I do not think the funds will stretch that far
.
I tried to phone the Embassy today but it is only open until 4.30pm and it was later when I tried. Will try again tomorrow. I have now found an accountant (who is on my list of people who can sign it) who will sign it for me. Yipee!!! Many thanks Caroline78 for your reply. Hopefully I will be sorted now and will not need anyone else to sign it! Karen24 I am in UK and my local post office do not have this service. It would be so handy to have my passport returned within 2 weeks if I could. Many thanks to all you very kind people for all your very helpful advice. xx0 -

Hi Boyler1980
It costs 80 euro to do it by credit card. That is for a 10 year passport. I sent it to the London Embassy and that cost £4.95 for signed for next day delivery. I believe it can take up to 6 weeks for it to be returned and that is hopefully if everything is in order!:). Posted it yesterday so now waiting patiently for it's safe return!!0 -
Just to update. I posted my application to renew my passport on 6th Jan and had my new passport returned safely on 16th Jan.A very quick turn around. I was very pleased!0

Hi,
Does anyone have any idea if, when you send it to them, they actually return your old passport when they send your new one? really don't want to lose it but can't find out if they return them (and can't get through to the passport office tel. line).
Thanks0 -
Yes they do send your old one back with the corners cut off. had mine renewed in person at the Embassy in KNightsbridge, only took a week quick as hell0

FYI peeps,my girlfriend just got her photographs for her Irish Passport countersigned by a Notary Public.
It cost £60 in East London, average charge for London, she phoned around. Took 10 mins but he waffled on a bit to justify the extortionate fee.
Her quack Doctor charges £30 and takes 10 days !!!
She was informed that the Irish Passport is easier to have renewed, even though its exactly like applying for a new one..weird... because the counter-signatory does not have to know you for 2 years as they have too if you wanted a British Passport !
Yesterday(17 Sept 10) she applied in person and wanted to pay cash...they do not accept cash or credit card payments so she had to go outside to the post office and get a postal order costing £7.. amazing !!!0 -
My GP signed mine...cost me £30...0
