O2 never offered me deals, you call them and they tell you to wait till a certain date, 30 days before end of contract. I moaned to them once that it left me at a disadvantage in that should they not be able to offer me a good deal, I would not be able to get the 30 days notice in to them in writing.

Mute point but worth making because it meant you would pay for a few days more whilst trying to end the contract.

And in last 6 months, they have stopped doing 12 month contract, bad idea I was going to go back to them at some point in future, not now.

The systems weren't down today, and the longest call queuing time was 18 minutes

I thought they had all stopped doing 12 month contracts now anyway.

  • monday is the best time to call, pretty much all call centres are hard to get through, unless you wait patiently. i think this is due to a shortage of staff a day after the new year.

No you can get 12 month contracts with t-mobile and vodafone (they might be cashback deals but its what I am happy with myself).

If they all stop - well I will go pay and go or 30 day rolling cheap deal.

I tried calling all day, in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Whe ni finally got through at 7:30ish I was told the systems were down. I'll call back later today, they're open 10-6. My persistence shall prevail

I remember that happening when I worked for O2 - was crap for us because all we could do was tell customers the systems were down (couldn't do anything for anyone) and people tended not to take it too kindly

I thought they were bluffing, but these things happen anyway. Got through in 10 mins earlier this morning, and now im happy. I was still able to have a bit of fun with the retentions staff before calling it a day, :D love it

Regarding the choice of phones on O2, I have noticed that the list of models hasn't changed much in the last 12 months since I had my C902 (which is still on there). I have an 18 month contract which is due to run out on 24th July.

I am still considering changing to sim only, but I may switch to orange, their sim only deal is better in that you get unlimited texts BUT it's a 12 month contract, whereas with O2 you get a limited amount of texts and the contract is only for 30 days.
