Just out of interest OP, why do you want to leave O2? I have been very happy with them for a number of years. When my contract is up in June though, I'm switching to Simplicity.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £19,575.020

Not wanting to hijack the thread but ever since Telefonica took over O2 haven't had a great selection of phones, aren't competing on price, don't actively invest on improving their network coverage and their customer services have sometimes been very rude in my experience. I'm either going PAYG on O2 or more likely T-Mobile SIM only in the future.Abbafan1972 wrote: »Just out of interest OP, why do you want to leave O2? Im on simplicity now.. im on a low tariff (£15.. and i go over every month but not by a lot, £21's been my highest bill average probably £18). Their service is normally pretty good but they have a seriously bad disrespect for low band customers.
They don't make the slightest effort to retain you and their phone range for normal contracts is beginning to suffer.. they're also quite cheeky in quoting me ridiculously high prices for packages. Got quoted £35 for the 8900, £55 for the Bold 9000 (this was last week).. orange are doing much better deals and I dont mind the 24m tarriffs as i'll be happy to stick with them as long as the cost is fair and the mins/txt/data im getting is adequate for my needs.
If you've been reading the forums you'll have seen i settled a £30 24m orange tarriff earlier (panther 40) with the bold 9700 for free.. total is £720 over 2 years but 1200 mins, 500 txt, 500mb data, works out quite nicely for me.
Advice for you is if you're going for simplicity, which is awesome cause you're never 30 days way from a cancellation if you get the 30day version, is try not to opt for the lowest band, and if you do, don't expect any special treatment if you decide to leave / upgrade, whether its after 1 month or 27 months (like myself).0
