If I ever do get stuck I shall let you know! You are still on my staff travel by the way if you ever need it
I tried to watch 500 Days of Summer when I went to Canada but I just found it a bit dull... maybe I didn't give it long enough?!
I am gutted this week... my friend bought me a HUGE bag of chocolate misshapes from Cadbury World and I only left it at work with no chance of getting it back
Sorry to hear about your MOT Nickynoo I know the feeling but I hope you it sorted... :grouphug:
Oh God, Monday was a miserable day! It rained ALL day! But glad it was rain as it was originally predicted to be much colder and snow!
And thanks about the staff travel. I'm planning a trip home for end of March so will be booking my flights this weekend
500 days of summer - I read an interview with the author of the book, so I had a fair idea of where things were heading. But I've known both guys and girls who are so like the main character! So, it made me laugh as I kept thinking 'Oh God, I remember when so and so did that!'. It's not a love story though, which is why I liked it. It's more about what he discovers about himself and life etc during the relationship.
Noooooooooo, you forgot the chocolate! You need to get one of the guys at work to start bringing some in for you. Our new guy keeps doing this. We like him
Yeah, Nickynoo, sorry about the car. It must be so frustrating for you on the financial side. But, perhaps a separate loan would be cheaper? I'm not sure if a top up means that interest is applied to the outstanding balance as well as the new amount. If so, it would work out more expensive.
Do you have any 0% on purchases cards available? Or even with a balance transfer 0% offer? Then you could spend on one card, and transfer the balance to the 0% oneFebruary wins: Theatre tickets0 -
I knew it wasn't a love story as such... maybe I should give it another try...
I really am very sad about the chocolate.... I knew I'd forgotten something but by the time I realised it was too late. And they probably just threw it away... sad times.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

And then there's Kruidvat (pronounced Crowd-vart). Much, much cheaper (most of the time), but the shop is chaotic and messy. A bit like a poorly run Superdrugs on a very, very busy day! lol
Nothing that matches up to Boots. I still have my loyalty card though. It paid for a new razor the last time I was in the UK
There are apparently 17 Boots in Holland plus you have Boots.Com...:p:p
Following a strategic review of its Dutch retail operations Boots is to sell its stores and distribute its leading beauty and personal care brands through drug store chain Etos, part of Royal Ahold, the Netherlands' largest retail group.
Boots opened its first Health & Beauty stores in the Netherlands in 1997. It now has 17 stores, enjoying strong demand for Boots own brands, but overall sales and profits growth has been below plan. A review of the business indicated that other options for accessing the Dutch consumer market should be explored.
Under the agreement with Etos, the Boots stores will be transferred to them, including property leases, stock, assets and employees. The majority of the stores will be integrated into the drug store chain.
Boots will pay Etos Dfl 3.5 million in respect of certain obligations. The transaction will result in the write-off of assets amounting to approximately £14m in the accounts of The Boots Company.
The agreement also gives Boots national distribution through 412 Etos stores of some of its most popular cosmetics and toiletries brands, including No7 Cosmetics and Botanics. Brand support will include in-store merchandising, beauty consultants and national advertising.
Boots has set up a dedicated strategic marketing unit to develop its "power brands" for distribution through new and existing channels. The deal in Holland becomes a first step in executing the company's strategy of marketing and distributing Boots brands internationally in ways that are complementary to the building of Boots store chains overseas. The strategy recognises the importance of employing alternative business models, separately or in combination, which respond to established shopping patterns in different consumer markets.
David Thompson, deputy chief executive of The Boots Company says: "Our experience in the Netherlands and other overseas markets has confirmed that Boots brands have universal appeal and immense potential. It has become increasingly clear however that our combined health and beauty retail format, including pharmacy, does not fit with the characteristics of the Dutch consumer market and cannot become a template for other European countries. The partnership with Etos provides a clean exit from our retail operation whilst, at the same time, opening the way for sales of key ranges across the whole of the Netherlands."
John van der Ent, managing director of the Etos group says: "Boots is famous for the world class quality of its own brand products. They fit perfectly into the Etos range and will give us an important differentiator in the highly competitive Dutch market."
